Lesbians not welcome at Gay Pride

This is horrifying. Women (lesbians) told by police they are going to be removed because abuse is being hurled at these women.

Police do nothing about the person shouting the abuse.

Pride has been taken over by MRA

It really has. Very angry men. And considering the increasing incel to TW pipeline this is not surprising.

Rape culture at its finest on display today.

“You won’t have sex with me because I have a penis, you’re a transphobic, have sex with me”

Do one. Since when do women have to give a reason for refusing to have sex with someone?

And then when we’re forced to explain ourselves - because MTF are just men with a lifetime of entitlement, privilege and aggression behind them - we still get abused.

Bear in mind that a certain subset of the angriest TW couldn't get sex with women as men.

They're now trying to get sex with women (lesbians) as women and are still being denied. It's absolutely rape culture.

Hopefully they'll give up soonish and go T4T aka prison gay. This seems to be the outcome for most TW.

It is like the Undeclared War on here sometimes.

Why let actual events and opinions matter when there is an agenda to be pushed? obvious? Aye. It is.

There is no pride to be had in pushing women to accept phallus.

No pride at all.

I was looking at another thread and came across these links to articles by Dr. Em about lesbians getting shat on at Pride events in the 70's for failing to pander...

Why are my posts disappearing without even a talk guideline deletion message?

Are posts just now being removed on the sly?

Because lesbian is always a political word as to who counts. Do political lesbians count? Do women who have had relationships with men and now are with women count as lesbians? What about women still married to men who say they are lesbians?
These debates happened long before the transgender issue. It has always been a politically disputed term.

I've never known of the police removing lesbians from a gay march for those definitions of lesbian, though. Only when the definition seems to include men do the piluce seem so invested.

MissingLesbianSpaces · 27/08/2022 15:54

The only acceptable lesbian today is either one with a cock or one willing to suck that cock. You are witnessing the promotion of corrective rape and those that enthusiastically support it

But they're all WOMEN in those situations. Not men. The man thing is black and white. Man =No lesbian

We're the 'get the L out' group trying to walk with the pride parade (as they should have been free to do), to stand at the side of the parade (as they should have been free to do), or trying to block the parade (which the police probably had to prevent happening)?

It's an awful look, whichever. I'd understand the police's attempt to do the latter, though.

Angry men abuse gay women at pride and the police remove the lesbians. It's surreal.

Would make you sick.

None of the footage I've seen has suggested that the police removed them because they were trying to stop the parade.

In one clip, the police said it was for the lesbians own safety. . Don't know why they wanted to remove the victims

They had to leave fo their own safety whilst a man in a dress is screaming in a woman's face to 'fuck off'

But he wasn't removed 🙄

IKR, imagine removing the aggressor rather than the victims. Wild.

What did they do then? Sounds like you have some info.

I thought Pride was about protest.
Peter Tatchell says
“The idea spread to the UK, and a group of us in the Gay Liberation Front in London came up with the idea of holding a celebratory and defiant “Gay Pride” march, to challenge queer invisibility and the prevailing view that we should be ashamed of our homosexuality. The ethos of Pride was born.”
Ruth Smeeth's blog
Pride was never designed to be apolitical – it was a statement. It was a demand for public acceptance at a time when being LGBT+ wasn’t just difficult – it was almost impossible to be openly queer in public. It was to a personal platform for those who were being silenced in their own communities. It embodied our collective basic right to free expression and used that right in such a way that it began a journey of changing hearts and minds.

Of course none of this applies to Lesbians does it.

Made the victims leave whilst the man was allowed to stay and scream abuse.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/08/2022 17:43

Apologies I thought you were being sarcastic and implying that the lesbians were the aggressors.

RichardOsmansXraySpecs · 27/08/2022 17:50

What on earth is going on in this country? I just can't quite believe the police think it's acceptable to remove the victims rather than the perpetrator.
Make it make sense.

Is that awesome Liane being yelled at?

Exactly, why are the women being punished for men's behaviour? Same old shit really.

It's just an extension of how abused women are always treated. If you are an abused woman it is you (and sometimes your children) that have to move out and into a refuge or find a safe place to be. If the abused man finds you it is you that has to uproot the family and start again. It is rarely the men who suffer the consequences.

This is very personal to me this week and I have had enough. I am so angry with it all.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 27/08/2022 18:20

Funny that the legally protected characteristic of sexual orientation is always completely ignored when it comes lesbians.

Why is it a 'hate crime' to upset man with a gender identity but not a 'hate crime' for a man to be abusive to women because they are lesbians?

CottonSock · 27/08/2022 19:14

What I witnessed from about 10 meters away is that a very small group of about 10 people stopped a march of thousands. Who thenwaited with patience in the boiling sun to be allowed to continue.

Which is ridiculous.

They should have been allowed to fully participate as founders of the movement.

IcakethereforeIam · 27/08/2022 19:20

I hope there's an official complaint about the Police handling of this for all the good it will do. Could the bloke still be arrested, I imagine he wouldn't be difficult to identify.

EdiJester said they'd put chevrons on the pink triangle at Manchester pride, but I've not been able to find an example.
