Antipodean fruit grower statement

The antipodean fruit growers site is down. A statement from the owner reads in part:

What I fear more than losing my site, being sued, or dealing with police is living in a world where [redacted by me as would be against MN talk guidelines] while normal people are not allowed to even discuss it.

The mob has already planned subsequent targets. Should we stay down, they will then attack 'gender critical' communities - especially those ran by and for women. No place can exist online which criticizes [redacted], and nothing would excite them more than this power and domination struggle being inflicted on a female space instead.

Posted for info.

No one uses "transes" apart from trans activists.

Solarist · 27/08/2022 18:45

Soo true, let’s make sure incel misogynist eejits can continue to doxx, harass & abuse women,

You must be talking about MTRAs

All of which have a right to post on whatever forum they want!

You don't seem to understand the basics. If free speech is a right, it is a right for anyone to say what they want, even if you don't personally like it. I'm guessing you are just out of uni with this fundamentalist approach to only allowing things you like to happen online.

picklemewalnuts · 27/08/2022 18:58

KF is a scummy bit of space I only go to when I need specific information (always evidenced).

If Reddit can be as disgusting as it is, why can't KW?

It's definitely a 'defend their right to say it' space. Too rough for me. So I don't go there.

Reddit has some absolute cesspools - you'll see real hatred of women there, in places like r/AgainstHateSubreddits - on a monomaniacal mission to make sure there are no women-centred spaces on Reddit. (Women-centred for users, that is. Single-sex female porn content is fine).

Trying to drive people off your platform because you don't like their views. That's hate.

Documenting what people do, and laughing at them, but otherwise leaving them alone is incredibly harmless by comparison. Anyone affected has the option of not going there to read about themselves.

(And in general, if you want fewer people gathering to laugh at you, try being less ridiculous).

NecessaryScene · 27/08/2022 19:10

You're abusing and harassing women now, GreyCouncil.

Be the change you want to see, and just go away, dear.

FOJN · 27/08/2022 19:11

ya’ll need to take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself why you’re condoning a site with an extensive history of abusing women.

TBH I think Twitter is way worse for abusing women. As a PP said KW is an equal opportunities offender but they seem to end up with more male than female targets.

JellySaurus · 27/08/2022 19:13

thequeensrarebit · 27/08/2022 15:00

If anyone has email addresses that might be linked to you in real life I'd suggest switching it for a random unlinked email address pronto.

Especially if you had a post reported a couple of months ago around the time of the big data breach that allowed TRAs to harvest the email addresses of everyone they reported.

Gender critical beliefs are WORIADS. My right to excites them is protected in law. I am not ashamed of them. I am not ashamed of my concern for the safeguarding of vulnerable people. I have spoken no hate.

I will not bow down to bullies.

I was going to say the same thing - Twitter provides a platform for far more doxxing than KF. (And for the hard of thinking, doxxing and abuse are bad, and shouldn't happen).

Twitter also has homophobic, ableist, etc posts in abundance. They could deal with it, but they don't.

Artichokeleaves · 27/08/2022 19:30

You forget, females are years into experiences of the salami tactics.

Be kind, it's just a little budge over, it's just a little thing, that isn't ok is it so let's just trim this one little nasty bit....

so we'll get rid of that site because yucky and smelly and indefensible (but not the death threats on Reddit or Twitter, cos .... reasons....)

and then we'll do that site
and that one
and let's control that one
and let's control and silence those people

and then by the time people realise they've been absolute bloody dozy twits in nodding along to this trying to be naice, and have been exploited and manipulated to fuck, all hell has broken loose and it's hell trying to get that ground back.

We have that bloody t shirt mate. No. Free speech, no more naice. Trust me on this, it's been destruction tested.

Artichokeleaves · 27/08/2022 19:31

The bottom line of this entire mess and political movement, is good people with good intentions and a whole lot of higher thinking who have had their goodness thoroughly exploited by a group with zero conscience who have no reciprocal values and see the other side as merely stupid for believing them.

Safeguarding. Ask the difficult questions. Think the unthinkable. There is nothing too bad to talk about.

AlisonDonut · 27/08/2022 19:37

Makes me laugh that anyone would think they took down KF because they doxxed women.

No pal. They took it down because of the amount of info on there that could be used to take TRAs down. It's got nothing to do with them protecting women.

I am genuinely surprised they took so long to do it.

LuftBalloons · 27/08/2022 19:40

Goodness, I hadn’t realised that the owner of that site had seen and clocked what has been going on.

I keep wondering just HOW we allow less than 1% of the population dictate to the rest of us.

Flatmountains · 27/08/2022 19:42

Sounds like they have been trying for a bloody long time. This attack is not the first. So thoughtful, that "first they came for..." poem.

Crazy times, here we are defending Kiwi Farms when only a year ago everyone was up in arms about Chris Chan raping his mother.

There is obviously a link im missing

why wouldn’t people be up in arms about a man raping his mother 😳

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 27/08/2022 19:59

Obviously id be up in arms about a man raping anyone…

Glad it's not just me. What's the connection between the two?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/08/2022 20:00

Kiwi Farms documented what Chris Chan was doing, no? They didn't make CC rape CC's dementia-suffering elderly mother.

Is it supposed to be a gotcha

NecessaryScene · 27/08/2022 20:05

Goodness, I hadn’t realised that the owner of that site had seen and clocked what has been going on.

Given that TRAs are a significant proportion of the individuals who get documented - due to their obnoxious behaviour - KF users can't help but understand exactly how much they hate women, and how they treat them.

They listen to trans people. A lot.

KF does get a lot of the focussed hatred from TRAs - the same sort of intense targetting that they did to sexologists like Michael Bailey who recorded their behaviour. And it is very intense, that particular lashing out against sunlight and exposure, as we see now.

But they can see that isn't the general theme of the TRA culture, where hatred is more routinely aimed at women en masse, for the slightest non-compliance. You'd have to be blind not to see it, given the mass of evidence on there.

I’ve never been able to get past the farmers being thrilled Null streamed the footage of the murders in the mosques in NZ. They were all “yeah, free speech!”
Horrendous.
To get to the useful information on people on like Jessica Yaniv you have to wade through awful misogyny and the nasty stuff teenage boys say when they want to sound tough. I’m deeply ambivalent.

Unless I'm mistaken the farms did not stream the NZ mosque footage. The site which streamed it was 8 chan and for that reason Cloudfare took them down.

as @Artichokeleaves says

I may disagree with what you have to say, but will defend to the death your right to say it'
