Kelly-Jay Keen has been visited by the police, accused of "being untoward about paedophiles".
Yes, really.

Well, not the old fashioned lesbians, anyway...

I couldn't figure out how to say that without getting a strike. Thanks!

Datun · 25/07/2022 14:34

Snorting at KJK 'throwing gay people under the bus'. Whenever I see a photo of her you can't swing a cat without hitting someone from the LGB community.

What is worrying about all this is that it will breed intense dislike and resentment.

Where I live - it's reasonably rural - police officers are very thin on the ground. Try to get anyone to take an interest in someone with known mental health issues repeatedly jumping out into a main road at 9pm, and you will be passed from pillar to post for bloody hours. Report that your small shop has been burgled and it will be 36 hours before anyone comes to collect evidence, by which time you've had to clear up the mess (thus losing any evidence) because you can't afford to lose another day's trading. These are real incidents. I haven't made them up. I was involved in one of them.

So people in actual physical danger, and who are endangering others, and people who are suffering significant financial loss are clearly way down the list.

And the people involved look round and see that two constables can be detailed off to go and harass a woman who has said something that might be offensive to paedophiles, and that people have been urged to report NCHIs which the police must then deal with...

They're going to think that there is something badly fucking wrong, and that there are groups of people for whom the police force cares, and that they are not members of any of those groups. They will start to develop at best suspicion and at worst a dislike of the groups they perceive as benefitting from extra police resources and will become resentful and mistrustful of the police.

Doesn't exactly foster social cohesion, does it?

Quoting because this needs to be reiterated.

I agree. Children readily detest any other child they perceive to be the teacher's favourite, or to be the recipient of partisan treatment from any other authority figure.

Adults aren't that much different.

So in that Twitter thread that @unwashedanddazed linked, it claims that in her video she said this, in reference to an American politician:
"Whilst also saying that the LGBT community is attempting to indoctrinate or groom children, 100% we agree with you, thank you very much for saying so and um I don't care that uh how that comment is being portrayed."

Is that true? Is that what she said or is it being quoted out of context and misrepresented?

Um… because if its true, then much as people are interpreting this as meaning bad drag queens, that’s not what she said. She could just as easily have meant lesbian mums coming to the school summer fair holding hands, for all that it says there.

The whole situation is horrible, it was crazy for that Twitter account to call the police out for one line in a YouTube video, especially given how the police don’t care much about crimes against women. But it’s weird to see people on here defending her so hard if she is happy to throw all LGBT people under the bus.

Why don't you watch her video and listen to what she says in all its context, instead of trawling the weird stalker account for interpretation of what she said.

That way you can form an opinion of your own instead of relying on randomers on the internet to manage your thinking for you.

The LGB community was doing well on gaining acceptance etc etc before the TQ was tagged on the end. Adding the TQ doesn't really seem to have improved things for them much. IMHO, the forced teaming of the LGB community with the TQ will not make things better.

Actually, I don't think the lesbian community has ever been tagged with the 'paedophile' label.

As Gluck remarked quite recently, it was lesbians and women who recognised the attempts at forced teaming with NAMBLA and PIE back in the 70s through to the 90s and, together, they were successful at stopping it.

Gluck claims that this might underpin the contemporary strategy of attempting to classify those who raise safeguarding concerns as Pol Pots (I pharaphrase) etc.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 25/07/2022 15:17

Lesbians have always been the underclass in the LGB and beyond community. They have supported and provided succour and been well and truly marginalised, excluded and walked over by, dare I say it? … those with male privilege.

I've bumped a thread with some interesting resources about attitudes to lesbians and some examples of male privilege on show in the 70s.

You all may be of the opinion that you can somehow excise the T and Q from the LGB without harming the Gay community

Au contraire.

The 'gay community' was made up of people being happy being homosexual.

The LGBTQ+ political lobby, led by Stonewall, now equates being homosexual with being rapist and openly discourages and disparages it, and advocates that homosexual people learn to be at least bisexual in order to be socially acceptable.

So as an L person, who is a female homosexual and not about to deny it regardless of how many names you call her or how many boundaries you try to argue her out of? Yeah, I liked the 'community' and my rights one hell of a lot more before TQ+ politics set out to use it for their own ends and destroy it in the process.

If you're concerned about harm to gay people, you are going to have to face up to that particular bit of it because it's front and centre.

This.

^^

Women? Police turn up if they state biological reality, gather to talk about their rights or now apparently are heard being disrespectful about paedophiles, ffs.

TQ+ political activists? Can set smoke bombs, kettle women, intimidate and harass them, and throw rape, murder and death threats all over Twitter and that's fiiiiiiiiiine.

How safe would I feel as a female and a homosexual trusting the police right now?

I wouldn't. I frankly wouldn't. If I'd been raped or sexually assaulted, I wouldn't bother, in full knowledge that their handling of it would inevitably be worse than the assault itself.

The met has a very serious problem right now, and the rot is right at the very top.

Am I the only one totally charmed by the phrase “was untoward about paedophiles”? I love it. I want it on my gravestone.

Bucket list, find me a paedophile.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 26/07/2022 06:43

@Belovedfool "protecting delicate pedophile sensibilities from the harsh words of outspoken mothers" would look great on police recruitment materials

Maybe they could give me a job in their marketing dept? God knows they need the help, getting the wording right on a poster is far more important than solving or preventing crime.

I predict t-shirts will be available by the end of next week.

I love it and have changed my twitter pic to exactly that.

Not being funny, but why would anyone want to wear a t-shirt with the word "paedophile" on it, regardless of the context?

It's not even something I'd wear in my house, let alone to the supermarket or gym.

You wear what you want petal.

Ever heard of the Anti-Nazi league? Yes they had the word nazi. But because the word ANTI was written in front it it meant the opposite.

Hope that helps.

AlisonDonut · 26/07/2022 17:09

I mean, there are cruel sports.

And the League against Cruel sports.

It's literally how words work.

I mean if you want to walk about in public with the word "paedophile" on your t-shirt then you do you, but I find it in poor taste and something that's not likely to be well-received in most sections of society. So I still don't understand why people would wear one.

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 26/07/2022 17:20

LOL once again someone is bizarrely upset about Posie's merchandise. Different pretext though!

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 26/07/2022 17:25

Im with lockhart on this one

she hasn’t said no one should wear it and she doesnt seem upset about other people wearing it

you could argue that no one gives a shit if i say i wouldn’t wear it and to be fair id agree with that

but as cute as that dino is a lot of people won’t understand the context

Right you are.
