Kelly-Jay Keen has been visited by the police, accused of "being untoward about paedophiles".
Yes, really.

They really are saying the quiet part out loud, aren't they?

Aren't they just.

Neither officer thought 'hang on, what's such a crime about being untoward about paedophiles'?

Oh my they really have shot themselves in the foot here.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 24/07/2022 18:54

I know we dont do dictionary definitions in this brave new world but are they saying KJK has been unexpected and inappropriate or inconvenient to pedophiles

i mean what would that actually even look like

So a paedophile has launched a complaint against her for spreading word about safety concerns for children against paedophiles and the police thought they’d investigate the woman instead of the paedophile making the complaint 🤔

What a fuckin world we live in!

CrossStichQueen · 24/07/2022 18:55

Oops wrong thread sorry.

PearlClutch · 24/07/2022 18:56

Can we write to the police force involved?

Georgeskitchen · 24/07/2022 18:57

Haven't the police been told to stop investigating online spats and start doing their job properly? A senior officer must surely have sanctioned the visit by 2 young constables.
This senior officer should be made to publicy explain his/her actions

BlueMumDays · 24/07/2022 19:02

Just to be clear, is the accusation really hate speech against paedophilia, or has she used unrelated hate speech against someone who also happens to be a paedophile? (ie has she attacked the trans identity of a paedophile?)

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 24/07/2022 19:08

I recommend that posters read this.

Oh dearie me @woolwinder , oh dearie dearie me. That wasn’t very nice was it. Calling a successful Women’s Rights campaigner a ‘creature’ really says more about you than it does about her.

PearlClutch · 24/07/2022 19:08

I don't think it was made at all clear, BlueMum. From what I can gather,, the policeman hadn't watched the video concerned and didn't tell her what video it was that was the problem.

I hope she sues the arse off them.

Boxowine · 24/07/2022 19:14

PP said that she 100 per cent agrees with Marjorie Taylor Green that the LGBTQ community is indoctrinating and grooming children.

Personally, I think that it's wrong to amplify a claim that the Gays are child molesters. She may have meant to focus on drag shows but what she actually said was LGBTQ. I do think this is dangerous. Gay people have had these kinds of attacks levelled at them for ages, especially in the US. These kinds of statements are inflammatory.

I expect to see multiple "we're just concerned about safeguarding" responses but I don't expect to see anyone taking note of all the ways children are not protected that doesn't involve the LGBTQ community. Pope Francis is travelling to Canada to apologize for the decades of abuse perpetrated on First Nations children but I don't expect to see PP having anything to say about that.

You all may be of the opinion that you can somehow excise the T and Q from the LGB without harming the Gay community but by teaming up with right wingers like Marjorie Taylor Green, who voted against codifying same sex marriage in the US this week, you are carrying water for them.

for the love of god can people stop with the ‘you all’ and the ‘teaming’

youve no idea what ‘all’ the women on this board believe

its a huge and lazy generalisation

EffedOffred · 24/07/2022 19:18

It is Stonewall that does the forced teaming of trans and gay issues, I don't believe that they are in any way the same:

PearlClutch · 24/07/2022 19:19

If my country had banned abortion, I don't think my strategy to fix the problem would be raging online at women in another country with different laws.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/07/2022 19:22

Don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather talk about the outrageous intimidation tactics of weaponising the police against women, and their outrageous collusion with it, than the same irrelevant, lazy deflections certain people post on every thread.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/07/2022 19:25

She said in the video that she thinks the policeman tripped up on his words, and that the person actually accused her of calling someone a paedophile. But he didn't seem to know much about what the actual complaint was. It's all a bit Keystone Kops.

The latest HMICFRS PEEL inspection found Wiltshire Police was ‘inadequate’ in three areas and ‘requires improvement’ in five other areas and said “urgent improvements” must be made.

In particular, some domestic abuse victims had received “an unacceptable level of service” that put them at continuing risk.

Wiltshire and Swindon police and crime commissioner (PCC) Philip Wilkinson said the inspectorate’s report was “a sobering read and highly disappointing”.

HMICFRS said the inadequate areas included how the force responds to the public, how it protects vulnerable people and strategic planning and value for money.

The force was graded as requires improvement in preventing crime, investigating crime, its treatment of the public, managing offenders and developing a positive workplace

Wiltshire Police is already one of six forces in England currently placed in special measures after it was moved into the inspectorate’s Engage monitoring process last month.

Cripes, Potholes. That's not a police force I would have confidence in.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 24/07/2022 19:36

As for reporting back to the complainant - wtf?

Over the years I've sadly had to report my ex multiple times for harassment and more serious stuff. Never have they ever reported back to me following speaking to or interviewing him.

Third worst when it comes to the timeframes of rape investigations.

Goodness PurgatoryOfPotholes
Unbelievable that they can find the time to harass KJK rather than sorting out their extensive policing failures. Maybe this is an example of how poor the policing is in Wiltshire?

Soubriquet · 24/07/2022 19:40

I haven’t watched the video but I suppose she could be accused of harassment?

I mean…even a paedo has a “right” to a quiet life if he isn’t doing anything.

Below are the "hate crime" categories. Are Wilts police saying that pedophilia is a sexual orientation? 😳

There are five centrally monitored strands of hate crime:

race or ethnicity
religion or beliefs
sexual orientation
disability
transgender identity

So interesting that misogyny is not included. I think that's true of all the places which have hate crime legislation. Of course misogyny is pretty much baked into the various systems in the wider community (both online in general, in many religious views and, in my opinion, in some trans activism quite openly).

Unbelievable that they can find the time to harass KJK rather than sorting out their extensive policing failures. Maybe this is an example of how poor the policing is in Wiltshire?

Maybe the force thinks paedophiles are vulnerable people?

I mean, I quote from the same link:

Her Majesty’s Inspector of Constabulary Wendy Williams said: “I have serious concerns about Wiltshire Police’s performance, particularly how it responds to the public, protects vulnerable people and makes use of its resources.

“The force is missing opportunities to protect vulnerable and repeat victims of crime. It needs to improve the way it manages victims’ calls, so that all vulnerable people are identified.

“Some domestic abuse victims have received an unacceptable level of service and have continued to remain at risk. The force is not supervising investigations well enough and doesn’t always follow all investigative opportunities.”

However, Ms Williams added: “More positively, the force has recently developed plans to address violence against women and girls and intends to make progress in how it understands and protects vulnerable people. [bold mine]

“Given our findings, we are now monitoring Wiltshire under our Engage process which provides additional scrutiny and support.

“In addition, I have been in regular contact with the chief constable and will continue to work with the force until the required vital improvements are made.”

I mean, there was an incident of an individual who had committed repeated sexual offences involving children in Wiltshire who didn't go to prison because the judge expressed concern about the individual's vulnerability. Note how I am avoiding pronouns. I'll get the link.
