If you have a Conservative MP and want to protect the rights of women and safeguard children please email them TONIGHT and ask them to support Kemi.

Penny Mordaunt still the bookies favourite (and they aren't often wrong) but we need to let everyone know how dangerous it will be for this woman to become PM; I don't believe she has changed her mind for one moment.

My god. Even after all this time the level of embarrassment-by-proxy someone else's foolishness can make me feel takes me by surprise.

If being asked to explain how you have reached the opinions you so confidently state makes you uncomfortable FWR may prove to be a challenging environment for you

Quite happy to explain my views. Would you like to choose one to start with?

I asked you to explain your comment on Kemi's endorsement by Reclaim. Please go ahead. Unless it's too difficult for you @jgw1 ?

Neither did I!

If I were running for public office and had been endorsed by an organisation, then I would to a little due diligence and determine which of three categories they fell into.

  1. An organisation whose aims and views closely align with mine and so I would be pleased they had endorsed me and would say so.
  2. An organisation whose aims and views are too contradictory to mine for me to want to be endorsed by them, in which case I would make that clear.
  3. Somewhere between 1 and 2, neither closely aligned to me, nor so contradictory that I felt the need to say so.

I was simply trying to work out which of these categories would be closest to Kemi's view of Reclaim.

It must be nice to be so confident in telling the difference between men and women that you can tell them apart on an anonymous message board.

As far as I can tell I quoted you and a previous poster, is that a problem?

You know organizations don't ask candidates if they can endorse them, right?

They just do it.

It was me who assumed you were male and I apologised when I realised it was just an assumption and you might not be. I think I assumed that because your posts remind me of Adrian Mole.

The pp was simply responding to me and did nothing wrong.

Why do you think Kemi has any responsibility for what Reclaim do? How has it got anything to do with her?

@MangyInseam Did I say that organisations do ask before they endorse candidates?

Do we think Rees Mogg and Dorries asked Truss before they did that video in Downing Street?

That's a good definition of a woman, I think I will use it from now on.

Maybe you could try paying attention to the things you say? There really isn't any substance there at all, is there?

I am pleased that you have acknowledged that I did not say that Kemi has any responsibility for what Reclaim do, it is very good of you to set the record straight on that matter, thank you.

Women can always tell.

No they can't. There have been many quite ridiculous accusations made on here of posters being men.

I've been told "I have so much to learn about being a woman". The worst I saw was posters determined that another poster was a man, when other posts on other parts of MN very clearly referred to experiencing pregnancy and. domestic abuse. That particular poster was either a woman or had spent a considerable amount of time making up an identity for the sole purpose of disagreeing with something said on FWR.

@beastlyslumber Which point of view can't I explain? I am more than happy to explain any and all of my points of view, although it would be much nicer if posters refrained from personal insults.
We have dealt with the issue of Kemi and the endorsement, which someone wanted to me to explain my posts about.
I guess we can conclude that Kemi is indifferent to an endorsement from Reclaim as she has neither said she is pleased to have it or condemned it.

Well, that would be fun. I can just see it in future speeches -

'I would like to make clear that I do not approve of my endorsement by the Coketown Ratcatchers Association as I rather disapprove of their stated purpose of using small dogs to catch the rats that infest the local parks.

I also do not approve of my endorsement by the Vulgarian Association of Child Catchers, because they propose imprisoning all under 16s.

I do, however, approve of my endorsement by the Muggletown Conservative Association's Social Committee, though I would like to state that I do not approve of putting an entire bottle of Polish Spirit in the party punch and I will not be responding to any allegations of my doing the Hokey Cokey as a result.

Have you dealt with it? You explained what you would do if you were running for public office but beastlyslumber's questions were mainly asking why. She even bolded them for you and yet I can't see any answer to them. For me, those were the more interesting questions by far.

@Floisme Well given that since I posted an answer about endorsements at 22.27 yesterday, there have not been any replies asking for any further clarification of what I said, I assumed that it was dealt with.

There has been since then a rather curious question about why I think that Kemi is responsible for what Reclaim do and say. I can't find a post where I have said that I think that, but if you or someone else can, then we could have a discussion about it.

I guess you have not been on Kemi's twitter where there are a whole series of endorsements of her that she has retweeted.

Interestingly I cannot seem to find a retweet by Kemi or her supporters of the endorsement from Lawrence Fox.

Floisme · 21/07/2022 09:39

These were the two questions I thought were interesting:
Is it that you think Kemi is responsible for what others say about her?If so, why do you think that?
Are you saying 'no' to the first question, that you don't think Kemi is responsible for what others say about her? If you are, then I don't understand what point you were trying to make about her and Reclaim?

I have to work now but I'll try and catch up with any answers later.
