If you have a Conservative MP and want to protect the rights of women and safeguard children please email them TONIGHT and ask them to support Kemi.

Penny Mordaunt still the bookies favourite (and they aren't often wrong) but we need to let everyone know how dangerous it will be for this woman to become PM; I don't believe she has changed her mind for one moment.

Hahaha boxowine are you kidding? So... you've given a lot of information about Focus on the Family - does that mean you're aligned with them? How do you know about their ideas if you're not supporting them? Why have you come onto this thread to promote them? Are they funding you?

LK1972 · 20/07/2022 15:23

Boxowine · 20/07/2022 15:14

It's extremely simple to repudiate them. If that's actually your opinion.

Good lord, it was said 'Well if we did that we'd probably be aligned with Focus on the Family or something and that would make us Far Right' - do you not understand that it means the poster does NOT align with these groups?

I'm sorry you genuinely don't understand and feel a bit sad for you, as I know my kids as tweens had better reading comprehension than this.

Boxowine · 20/07/2022 15:33

@beastlyslumber
Hahahaha but it's still a simple question.

Just like what is the definition of a woman. I would answer that "adult human female" if someone asked. And if they did ask, like many politicians are asked, I would understand that the question was being raised because the questioner finds it important to know where a person stands on that issue.

If I got into sarcastic replies about why someone would ask me such a thing or don't they get my point, hahaha, I would know that they didn't want to answer because their answer would tell me where they stand.

So, in an environment where the trans issue is increasingly linked to anti abortion and anti gay organizations I think that it's important to state your position openly on these issues.

KB has done so, she has stated very clearly that she supports same sex marriage but doesn't support self ID for trans genders. I think that's fantastic and wish we had her here. I wish that we could get our politicians in the same page as her.

Man alive, is it the heat do we think?

Dear God, boxo, how much more open could the poster have been about her position? She literally said, if we did that we'd probably be aligned with Focus on the Family or something - in other words, we didn't do that so we're not.

So did you drink the whole boxowine then? Is that what's going on here?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 20/07/2022 15:39

jgw1 · 20/07/2022 13:59

Could you pick one, to help me know where to start?

If being asked to explain how you have reached the opinions you so confidently state makes you uncomfortable FWR may prove to be a challenging environment for you

Boxowine · 20/07/2022 15:41

Would the average woman in the UK even be familiar with Focus on the Family? Or only GC activists who have received donations from them?

Floisme · 20/07/2022 15:43

MangyInseam · 19/07/2022 23:02

Well if we did that we'd probably be aligned with Focus on the Family or something and that would make us Far Right.

That post by MangyInseam was to me. Why Boxowine didn't post the full exchange I cannot explain, but here it is.

Boxowine · 20/07/2022 15:41

So you’re familiar with them because you’ve had a donation?

Actual LOL

the person you’re referring to is prolific poster here

if she’s a far right plant she’s playing a loooong game

Ive no idea why not

because as someone who has just caught up with the thread I can’t quite figure out if box has misunderstood and can’t back down or is just throwing shit and hoping some sticks

Cailleach1 · 20/07/2022 15:48

jgw1 · 20/07/2022 13:57

Why do you think one should feel guilty if one agrees with Lawrence Fox?

I am now wondering about something. If Lawrence Fox deplored child sexual abuse, would that mean one should feel guilty if they agreed with him about that?

Floisme · 20/07/2022 15:48

Ah I your pardon, it won't quote the full exchange. Never mind, MangyInSeam was responding to this post from me:
That sounds like fairly standard Conservative viewpoints. What exactly are the naysayers expecting her to say?! 🤯
Indeed. The Conservatives are not my people but I’m struggling to work up any outrage about a leadership candidate espousing conservative values.

And has feminism really not moved on from the idea that work outside the home is the only kind that holds any value?

If anyone persists in reading that exchange as an endorsement by MangyInSeam then I honestly don't know what to say to you.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 20/07/2022 15:48

Wist i have a third possibility

has made a mistake and can’t back and down and figures the best thing would be to throw some shit and hope some sticks

its a bold move

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 20/07/2022 15:49

Wait…not wist 🤨

LK1972 · 20/07/2022 15:49

lol, we're back to 'GC activism is funded by US far-right' I see. Have you had a donation @Boxowine, I'm still waiting for mine, hope it'll compensate for the small fortune spent on the bloody court cases, do you need to submit the receipts or something?

Conflictedunicorn · 20/07/2022 15:54

We get funding now? How would one apply? I’ve not received a penny!

Floisme · 20/07/2022 15:55

In fact I'm so embarrassed for Boxowine that my female socialisation is kicking in and I'm going to switch.

I am interested to learn that diversity is all about how people look, because for me it is more about a diversity of thought and accepting the opinions of others.
This comment from jgw1 sounds uncannily similar to things I've heard Laurence Fox say, specifically about lack of diversity of opinion in the arts as I remember.

Does this mean I believe jgw1 is aligned with Laurence Fox? Of course not, because that would be an incredibly lazy, incoherent argument, wouldn't it?

beastlyslumber · 20/07/2022 16:06

jgw1 is going to be back at any moment to defend his points and make coherent arguments so I'm sure we'll get to find out whether there's any connection between him and Laurence Fox. Maybe he is Lawrence Fox?

I didn’t realise they were male

Oh actually, I don't know. I just assumed that they were. I don't know why.

Apologies if I've got that wrong jgw1.

ToiletTroubles · 20/07/2022 18:49

MangyInseam · 20/07/2022 14:53

Oh boy.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there in terms of age and sex. It is end of term after all😁

jgw1 · 20/07/2022 21:45

beastlyslumber · 20/07/2022 14:09

Certainly. Let's just go for your last comment. Just say, clearly, what it is that you think. Is it that you think Kemi is responsible for what others say about her? If so, why do you think that? Is it that you think there's guilt by association, so you can just associate Kemi with anyone you like and then point the finger at her? Is it that you are hinting that Kemi is indeed 'proud' of being endorsed by Reclaim? If so, what's your evidence for that, and what's your argument as to why this makes Kemi a bad person/politician?

What you have put in bold was not my comment. Perhaps that is where the confusion has arisen?

beastlyslumber · 20/07/2022 21:49

jgw1 · 20/07/2022 21:45

No, I was quoting myself asking you questions. I restated them to make it easy for you to answer. Your comment was that Kemi should be proud of her endorsement by these "good people". My questions (in bold) are asking you to explain what you mean. Looking forward to your answers.

NonnyMouse1337 · 20/07/2022 21:56

I think boxowine needs to cut down to glassowine 😁😁😁
