If you have a Conservative MP and want to protect the rights of women and safeguard children please email them TONIGHT and ask them to support Kemi.

Penny Mordaunt still the bookies favourite (and they aren't often wrong) but we need to let everyone know how dangerous it will be for this woman to become PM; I don't believe she has changed her mind for one moment.

No way. Just listen to her talking about other issues. She’s right wing awful.

bellinisurge · 13/07/2022 17:28

Let them do it to themselves. And let Labour tie themselves in knots because they will be afraid to after her for being a liar about self ID. And everyone will see it.

Sulusu · 13/07/2022 17:35

No way, she is far too right wing.

Single issue voting on this at what cost? Benefits? Human rights?

lifeturnsonadime · 13/07/2022 17:35

If you want to safeguard SEN children and children in education then please DON"T send this email. Instead email asking them to scrap the School's Bill.

Kemi will harm many many children with her draconian education policies.

She might know what a woman is but don't pretend she's a protector of children.

Could you please extrapolate on that?

Fairly urgently, if you can?

She wants to reduce the number of TAs etc and have less small group classes and extra curricular activities from what I have read.

ScribblingPixie · 13/07/2022 17:52

I'm really pleased and particularly want her to get through to the next round so she takes part in the TV debate. I think/hope her direct, honest style of communication will force something similar in the other candidates.

Norden · 13/07/2022 17:56

@HalleLouja Could you please provide some sources to back that up?

There are a lot of women wanting to vote for Badenoch instead of Mordaunt because we have seen M's outright lies and we have the evidence to prove it

If we are wrong on Badenoch then so be it. But, evidence please?

HalleLouja · 13/07/2022 17:59

You asked, I just said what I had read. I am out so don’t have time to provide sourced information.

achillestoes · 13/07/2022 17:59

I’m pleased but think her votes will eventually have to go to Truss or we’ll get PM.

Shamoo · 13/07/2022 17:59

She’s a total horror if you look at her politics overall. Horror.

PaleBlueMoonlight · 13/07/2022 18:02

What are Penny's other policy positions like?

Norden · 13/07/2022 18:03

HalleLouja · 13/07/2022 17:59

Understand.

Not attacking you I am just helping some conservative women have all the info they need to make the right choices and make their vote count.

If you do get a chance and can spare 5 mins later could you please post something here?

cansu · 13/07/2022 18:04

I find your idea very odd. Are you essentially saying that her stance on one issue is the only thing that counts? That is ridiculous.

Norden · 13/07/2022 18:04

PaleBlueMoonlight · 13/07/2022 18:02

What are Penny's other policy positions like?

Penny is in the pockets of Bill Gates and the WEF.

HalleLouja · 13/07/2022 17:48

Won't extra curricular activities be reduced for girls anyway if they have to compete with boys for some things. Say sports. They might also self exclude if they don't have access to safety or privacy. it is stressful when others transgress your boundaries, too. Never mind the flat earth codswallop activists are providing schools with. Identifying as education.

If PM acts in the interest of the lobby who want to erode equality, fairness, privacy and dignity for girls and women, then it is all damaged across the board for women and girls anyway.

wonderstuff · 13/07/2022 18:07

They’re all pretty awful. I think Truss or Tugenhat are probably the best of a bad bunch. Mordaunt seems to pick her view based on her audience, think we’ve had enough of that, not sure she’s worse than Sunak.

MarshaBradyo · 13/07/2022 18:11

I haven’t heard news all day so just googled

here’s the numbers

Kemi Badenoch - 40

Suella Braverman - 32

Jeremy Hunt - 18 - OUT

Penny Mordaunt - 67

Rishi Sunak - 88

Liz Truss - 50

Tom Tugendhat - 37

Nadhim Zahawi - 25 - OUT

Cailleach1 · 13/07/2022 18:15

Also, I think if PM has lied (as alleged) as early as this, then that isn't the sign of good things to come. They say that when people tell you who they are, you should believe them. I had forgotten about how PM had 'misrepresented' the UK not having a veto against Turkey joining the EU. Then wouldn't admit that what she had stated was untrue.

I agree. This is madness.

What about women that are negatively affected by the rolling back of the state? Poor women, sick women, disabled women.... do they not count, because the threat to them doesn't also affect you?

lifeturnsonadime · 13/07/2022 18:18

*Could you please extrapolate on that?

Fairly urgently, if you can*

Tory party policy is to introduce a Schools Bill which will criminalise (primarily mothers) for failing to send their children to schools that can't keep them safe.

KB specifically has indicated than rather than doing what is needed to avoid the risk of this bill to children with SEND which is increasing education spending and SEN spaces that she intends to remove 'surplus staff' and subjects in school. Cuts in education which support SEND students plus the Schools Bill will actually harm children.

I had to take my children out of school when their needs weren't being met as they were unsafe. KB and the Tory government would make me a criminal.

If you have children who manage to navigate school without issues then it is easy to see how this can seem a non issue.

This report from the University of Coventry from 2019 explains why it is a dangerous ableist policy. www.coventry.ac.uk/news/parents-most-at-need-are-being-penalised-over-childrens-school-attendance-report-finds/

Any individual who thinks that cutting education spending is a good idea has little care for children when it actually comes down to it. A vote for KB is for spending cuts in education FFS.

debbrianna · 13/07/2022 18:18

Mn makes me laugh all time. Thus thread is one them. Kemi of all people, very funny 😁

BreadInCaptivity · 13/07/2022 18:19

How do you help those women in a society that no longer equates woman as an adult human female?

Norden · 13/07/2022 18:20

That's a deal-breaker. If PM becomes our PM we just have another lying Boris.

Do we want a female version of him?

If anyone was around here 3 years ago watching Penny Mordaunt's disastrous MumsNet unfold you'll remember how she swerved every question to do with being female.

Maya's critique of that needs sharing:

PurpleDaisies · 13/07/2022 18:22

From her leadership launch speech:

We must require schools to concentrate on effective whole class teaching of rigorous subjects rather than allocating tight resources to superfluous support staff and peripheral activities.

I’d like to work in a school with superfluous support staff or peripheral activities. TAs got cut years ago.
