Just a heads up the LGB Alliance are allotmenteering as Mermaids is challenging their charitable status. They need about 140 000 carrots, parsnips, beetroot, chard etc to fight this.

I didn't think they had previously brought legal action? Previously there were complaints to the Charity Commission and these were dismissed by the Commission.

Absolutely. And to tie up their time and energy in court cases so that they can't get on with doing things to support LGB people, in order for mermaids et al to then shriek "they aren't even doing things for LGB! They are just anti-trans!".

I think Mermaids is indulging in something agin their charitable status... but what do I know... and THEY should be investigated by the Charity Commission. More info at the allotment. But yes its a way of bankrupting them. The same thing that was pulled by Scottish Trans Alliance to shut down For Women Scotland increasing their costs of the Judicial Review from £60 000 to £190 000. But STA failed ! Because women rallied around the FWS allotment.

This case is already expensive and hell on wheels for the LGBA and the homosexual people who would really like to be allowed to be homosexual in peace and have a voice too - which is the aim of the game of the lobby in question.

However this case is going to be a highly important one, not least for what it will get out in public in court, rather as Maya and Allison's cases have been so very helpful, and in once and for all fully establishing that homosexual people are permitted a voice outside of TQ+ control and ownership, and to seek for that freedom is not an act of unacceptable behaviour.

And it should also help very nicely in evidencing the behaviours and ethics and funding of some of the Goliaths in this situation.

Please, if you have a trowel lying around, plant a seed or two. What grows is going to be really rather important.

Is the donation just on their usual donate page of their website?

I agree. Why are they even allowed to waste time and money like this with a malicious lawsuit, or whatever it's called? Why haven't Stonewall been sued for campaigning to get rid of single-sex spaces? Why haven't Mermaids been sued for encouraging minors to do irreversible damage to their bodies? I think the Charity Commission should step in here.

Thank you all for the alert about the state of this patch of ground that needs particular care, and for your knowledge about how best to keep artichokes alive. Will go along with some tools.

Meanwhile, please help resist the Japanese Knotweed sown by Mermaids et al: there is a thread on this board about signing a petition to get ‘gender identity’ removed from children’s school lessons. It has few signatures so far.

Let’s hope costs are awarded against Mermaids when they lose the case. Hitting them in the pocket is the best way to deter vexatious litigants.

Stonewall has done a good job of trashing its own reputation recently. So it's nice of Mermaids to join in by launching an attack on gay rights. Let's hope it gets the publicity it deserves.
