Just a heads up the LGB Alliance are allotmenteering as Mermaids is challenging their charitable status. They need about 140 000 carrots, parsnips, beetroot, chard etc to fight this.

Bumping - still a lot of carrots needed.

Thanks for the reminder, have dug again. If they don't reach their target can they still claim the money pledged? Hopefully they will get at least 100k to cover legal costs.

It seems crazy that Mermaids can do this, like harassment or something, just taking vexatious legal cases to bankrupt the LGB Alliance.

Surely if the Charity Commission have deemed the LGB Alliance legitimate then it's not up to another charity to challenge their decision.

I've been working (gotta earn those carrot seeds) so thanks for this bump.

Used the seeds to help this garden grow.

Hopefully the challenge will find that ALL gardens are equal, instead of allowing some other gardeners to play Top Trumps with the Equality (Gardeners) Act of 2010.

Manchester ... just what is it about that place? The problem is that these kinds of people just make me even more DETERMINED to lobby money at the LGB Alliance I shall donate veg again on Friday.

I have a tax bill to pay this month and I'm not in a position to help right now, but I will next month.

I think the crowdfunder will be open until sept when the case is being held. Unless someone with deep pockets can be moved to give generously. It bloody is a tax and with us being underpaid I resent it madly. However I keep giving as I don't have any dependents and feel its my duty to add to the veg pile regularly.

Grifting is conning people out of money which they then spend on themselves. LGBA are crowdfunding for legal costs of a vexatious claim. I'm sure LGBA would love to be able to use the money from the crowdfunder for much better causes but they have no choice. It certainly isn't grifting. Unless you've changed the definition of grifting of course.

Now Stonewall on the other hand - got to admire their griftwork!

I have commented to my MP that I am exceptionally tired of having to continually fund the protection of women/homosexual people's rights from this never ending onslaught out of my own pocket.

He sees my point.

I have also commented that those busy attacking women/homosexual people's rights include organisations with whopping government grants to be able to do so.

Something stinks.

It is corrupt ..... For Women Scotland's Judicial review went from £60, 000 to £120 000 when Scottish Trans Alliance intervened and organisation which is WHOLLY publically funded apart from £2000 in donations in that year. They got a so called charity to do the intervention but its notable they did not intervene in the appeal as they had such bad publicity on twitter when I started linking to their public accounts.

Just a wafer thin bump....

At this time of year it's important not to overlook small jobs needed on the allotment. Also good if your pals help. A little bit from each pal who's able to makes a lot of difference.
