In case we hadn’t had enough drama.

Good luck, Maya.

OMG Important not going to sleep tonight!

*I’m not going to sleep

teawamutu · 05/07/2022 19:10

Oh god I wish I hadn't read that tonight.

Good luck Maya.

AnneLovesGilbert · 05/07/2022 19:14

She’s so amazing. And the other side didn’t help themselves. Sending her and her family all positive thoughts.

achillestoes · 05/07/2022 19:16

I’m going to think about ‘without identity, we’re just corpses’ this evening, and try to remember the sheer batshittery of some of the testimony.

Fingers crossed for Maya. Whatever the verdict she has done an amazing job at shedding sunlight onto some incredibly important issues.

Good luck! Good luck!

GrabbyGabby · 05/07/2022 19:31

Everything crossed. But no matter the verdict, and i suspect it wont be straightforward, this case has brought so much needed sunshine.

It feels like we are moving beyond the need to fight all our fights in the courts. Enough people are now aware to the dangers wrapped up in gender ideology and with stark reminders of the realities of biology like the fall of roe versus wade.

achillestoes · 05/07/2022 19:39

If she loses, I say she should appeal (I know I have no right to expect it). Being able to say true things is too important. She didn’t abuse anyone. She just said true things.

LoobiJee · 05/07/2022 19:44

If she loses, it will be on the basis that she wasn’t an employee / didn’t have employment rights.

I couldn’t see that her employment rights status was established convincingly in the tribunal evidence.

However if the tribunal do find her to have had employment rights, then I’ll be amazed if she doesn’t win.

caveat: IANAL

achillestoes · 05/07/2022 19:49

@LoobiJee

Yes, that’s true. In those circumstances I wouldn’t suggest an appeal.

Eeek, everything crossed.
