In case we hadn’t had enough drama.

Good luck, Maya.

Good luck! I have a feeling (although I really hope I'm wrong) they'll find a technicality and use that to go against her instead of showing an actual spine. Any excuse to run away from the tra tantrums. Unfortunately this will lead them all to start crowing on twitter calling her allsorts instead.

BUT, as others have said, regardless this has been a major dose of sunlight and WORIADS has been so, so important.

achillestoes · 06/07/2022 10:40

I don’t think judges are scared of activists. You wouldn’t do it if you were. If there’s a technicality that invalidates her case, it’s right to take account of that. I hope there isn’t, though.

Whatever the result Maya has done a huge amount for women’s rights. My stomach is churning for her right now.

VivaMozVegas · 06/07/2022 10:43

COME ON MAYA!

BeBraveLittlePenguin · 06/07/2022 10:43

I just keep refeshing.
Good luck Maya.

SpinningForTheWorld · 06/07/2022 10:48

As well exposing all the madness and ideological codswallop, and establishing WORIADS, Maya also showed that a woman can crowdfund a significant amount of money, engage a barrister with excellent skills and understanding of the issues, build a complete legal team, stay strong, focused and determined, and go to appeal and win at appeal if necessary, playing the long game.

She mapped out the route, and put it in the public domain.

DOBARDAN · 06/07/2022 10:52

Thinking of you Maya and sending positive vibes for the right result.
You are an amazing woman.

GoodWeatherforDucks · 06/07/2022 10:58

I very rarely post on here although I read this section of Mumsnet all the time, particularly in the last 6 months or so. It's been responsible for my realisation that women's rights are being woefully eroded by 'gender identity' taking precedence over sex.

I too am waiting with bated breath to hear the result of this historic case.

I dare to hope it will be positive.

I salute Maya Forstater for her bravery and tenacity. She spoke the truth.

achillestoes · 06/07/2022 11:02

It’s out.

Refreshing pages everywhere and feeling slightly sick.

But more than that, and regardless of outcome, full of admiration for, and gratitude to Maya

achillestoes · 06/07/2022 11:03

She won.

GrumpyMenopausalWombWielder · 06/07/2022 11:04

Is her legal team too busy celebrating to post the details & put us out of our misery?

achillestoes · 06/07/2022 11:05

Just dropped from the Judicial Office. She didn’t win on all counts but she won on the decision not to offer her an employment contract.
