In case we hadn’t had enough drama.

Good luck, Maya.

Thinking of you Maya. Good luck and, whatever happens today, you have already made your mark and achieved real change. Thank you.

If she loses, it will be on the basis that she wasn’t an employee / didn’t have employment rights.

I couldn’t see that her employment rights status was established convincingly in the tribunal evidence.

However if the tribunal do find her to have had employment rights, then I’ll be amazed if she doesn’t win.

caveat: IANAL

IANAL either but I agree with this.

Good luck Maya, I hope you managed to get some sleep last night. Whatever the outcome, you are a women’s rights shero who forever changed the face of the public discourse around this…i.e. you made sure there was one. So win, lose or draw: THANK YOU.

BattyOrange · 06/07/2022 08:42

Good luck Maya.

SpinningForTheWorld · 06/07/2022 08:42

I agree. Maya’s appeal and the “worthy of respect” decision have fundamentally changed the flow of discourse on this issue. I heard Mara Yamauchi on a podcast say it was Maya’s appeal decision that gave her the confidence to speak out on the inclusion of males in women’s sport. Maya has done us all a huge service. Thank you!

Keeping everything crossed this morning. 🤞

FemaleAndLearning · 06/07/2022 09:22

An amazing woman. Sex Matters is doing great work no matter the outcome. 💐

McDuffy · 06/07/2022 09:24

Eeeeep got everything crossed

BIWI · 06/07/2022 09:25

And I'll ask again ...

Where will we see/find/hear the judgment?

I'm assuming that Maya will post a link when it's available.

I agree, I think it’s awful the way companies are allowed to foist their politics on their employees.

Things like pronoun badges and associated public announcements (that went well, didn’t it Halifax?) and changing mandated screen wallpaper is just a cost-free way of signalling virtue in the hope that a) it makes them look good now and b) if there’s ever any issues in the future they’ve already proven their woke credentials.

Good luck, Maya. We’re all behind you, regardless of the outcome 🍀

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 06/07/2022 09:32

Good luck Maya

Eeeep is such an underrated response. This in spades.

DelurkingLawyer · 06/07/2022 10:00

Good luck Maya. You have done probably more than any single individual to bring the consequences of this ideology out of the darkness and into the mainstream and to encourage women to fight back against this erosion of their rights.

So many cases followed upon yours when women saw that they could win (even if they had to go to appeal) and they would have crowdfunding support from so many women.

Whatever happens today you are a shero.

redbigbananafeet · 06/07/2022 10:06

Which news outlet will you be watching in and would you mind sending me a link please? X

SpinningForTheWorld · 06/07/2022 10:18

I would imagine it's worth keeping an eye on Maya's twitter and the Sex Matters website.

InvisibleDragon · 06/07/2022 10:19

Good luck Maya!! Keeping everything crossed for a good result!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/07/2022 10:31

She will know by now, she said she was getting it an hour earlier.
