It makes their moods all over the place.

I mean us perimenopausal women take hrt for few other essential functions as well, but just as long as your moods are even mate.

Why engage with the diversions?

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 17:52

@Belovedfool I'm sorry to hear that and I can understand the frustration but taking out this frustration on Trans Women is just unjustified when they take up less than 1% of the total usage

JellySaurus · 04/06/2022 17:52

For the lurkers.

Belovedfool · 04/06/2022 17:53

You're not of menopausal age, are you Slow?

Pennox · 04/06/2022 17:54

here you go slow: www.statsforgender.org/suicide/

Time to turn on those critical thinking skills.

No one has a problem with your friend as an individual. it's when the demands of a tiny minority (trans people) directly impact women's rights that we have a problem.

pontefractals · 04/06/2022 17:55

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 17:41

Another study which has a better comparison: www.transgendertrend.com/the-suicide-myth/

@slowpoke5001 ,and did you actually READ this link before you shared it. I don't think it say what you think it does.

My friend is on her last hrt patch and has no idea if or when she'll be able to get more. Without this treatment, her quality of life was unbearable, and she was suicidal. She's now deeply afraid for herself and her family, and I know there are thousands of us, just like her.
The idea that life saving medication may be diverted away from her, to those with no medical need, frankly boils my piss.

It will evaporate, immediately, any smidgen of empathy I have left for those claiming what does not belong to them. It'll be gone, completely, and I would never ever look for it.

It's inhuman.

This post x 1000.

To claim TW have a medical need HRT, to replace something that wasn't there in the first place is quite frankly offensive to biological women

BootsAndRoots · 04/06/2022 17:56

So the thread appears to be about how trans women are upset by the HRT shortage, and then suddenly someone starts arguing about how it's wrong to blame trans women for the shortage! (That's not what was being said or argued). I grow incredibly tired of any debate about trans people where people
deliberately alter the argument to argue a point, and it is typically by a TRA.

But as with nearly every issue (Ukraine, climate change etc), someone always has to say "but what about the trans?". Not every issue revolves around trans people.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 18:00

@Pennox You have literally just proved my own point.
Considering the suicide rate in the UK www.statista.com/statistics/282203/suicide-rate-in-the-united-kingdom-uk-since-2000-by-gender/

If you use the statistics you just quoted and compared to the male suicide rate which is much higher Trans People are x39 times more likely to commit suicide. Not to mention the statistics I quoted also included those considering suicide and suicide attempts which are separate statistics

TheWeeDonkey · 04/06/2022 18:03

Well my Dr won't prescribe HRT because menopause is just one of those things women have to work through. Like the ignored and dismissed gynecological issues that caused me to have early menopause in the first place. So lucky me.

Maybe TW are so pissed off because being treated as actual women by the medical profession means being ignored, belittled and patronised.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 18:04

@BootsAndRoots No this thread was started by linking a Daily Mail article to a post about how Trans Women are taking up much needed HRT supplies when in actuality that isn't true and the article itself contradicts another Daily Mail article about the same subject that doesn't target Trans Women

Pennox · 04/06/2022 18:06

You're making yourself sound really stupid now.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 18:08

@TheWeeDonkey No one is saying Trans Women are pissed off, most Trans Women expect to be treated badly by the health system that's why they go private.
In-fact most Trans Women expect to be treated badly in every part of there lives, heck if you read any book about Trans identity it comes with a big disclaimer that after transitioning you can expect a significant amount of hatred

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 18:10

@Pennox Ok so obviously x39 is an estimate, i'm comparing UK figures to Swedish figures and i'm using data from 2020 for the Male suicide rate but even just a basic glance at the Uk figures suggests that the suicide rate was 0.0154% in the UK in 2020 and the Trans suicide you stated is considerably higher

Belovedfool · 04/06/2022 18:11

Please report the hatred you see here, it's absolutely not tolerated.

JellySaurus · 04/06/2022 18:12

Then maybe they need CBT to learn to identify unhelpful catastrophising thoughts that become self-perpetuating.

Like people with depression and anxiety do.

Transwomen are really upset by HRT shortages
JellySaurus · 04/06/2022 18:13

That was in response to

In-fact most Trans Women expect to be treated badly in every part of there lives, heck if you read any book about Trans identity it comes with a big disclaimer that after transitioning you can expect a significant amount of hatred

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 18:13

So the original Daily Mail article isn't direct hatred targeted towards Trans People for a problem that they are not even marginally contributing to

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 18:16

So what you're saying is anyone who is Trans has a mental Illness. Right.

Belovedfool · 04/06/2022 18:18

If it's not an illness, why does it need medicating?

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 18:20

@Belovedfool Ok so women taking HRT must have an illness then by the same standards. Keep in mind Gender Dysphoria is not actually defined as a Mental illness. I don't even need to include a source on that, just check out the NHS website for Gender Dysphoria

toomanytrees · 04/06/2022 18:21

Whilst obviously pregnancy and periods are specific to Cis Women there is the claim that trans women don't also suffer discrimination, sexual assault and go through the same kind of distressing puberty.

This dismissive attitude to women's pain makes me very angry. We may not speak about it much but it accompanies us through life. First, debilitating monthly menstrual cramps that over the counter medicines won't touch. When I was young we were told it was all in our heads. Then pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. Painful but so rewarding. Then the menopause. Hot flashes seem trivial, but it is not all about the heat. Mine, multiple times a day, are accompanied by a feeling of dread, anxiety and tightness in the chest.

It is deeply insulting to equate the supposed "discrimination, sexual assault and distressing puberty" trans women experience, to the reality of pain in womens' lives. It indicates transwomen really have no idea what it is like to be a woman.

Belovedfool · 04/06/2022 18:25

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 18:20

Menopause is indeed a medical issue that women go through, one that can be relieved by medical intervention.

You're getting there, keep thinking.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 18:28

@toomanytrees I'm not dismissing anything. Trans Women don't experience the same type of pain and that's not me stating that Trans Women have no idea what it's like to be a women it's pure biology. What i'm saying is that to dismiss that Trans Women feel pain during puberty, that they are immune to sexual assault and don't suffer discrimination is wrong.

viques · 04/06/2022 18:30

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 17:02

They transitioned so they could talk to women about girlie things? @Belovedfool
Well no it's a combination of things obviously. For most Trans Women it includes how they look Physically, there own name, how they speak, how they are seen by other women, not associating with characteristics typically accompanied by men, such as aggressiveness, competitiveness. Obviously these are not exclusive to men but they are typically more prominent.

Having said that it can be purely social, a lot of Trans Women never transition physically. If you have no objection to Tomboys and(or) Trans Men I don't understand why it's any different for Trans Women

So all those transwomen convicted of violent offences are not actually being violent. (See notourcrimes on you tube)

And those transwomen muscling in on womens sports because they aren’t good enough to achieve in male sports are not being competitive. ( Thomas, Davies, et al)

Thats good to know.
