Yes, it’s the Mail. No, I’m not apologising. This is fantastic!

How wonderful all these women are - yet she persisted indeed.

I have no doubt that there's much weeping and wailing about pesky women insisting on biological reality, facts and fairness at trans HQ today. And as I said on another thread, as we saw on here last night, there'll be many incoming tantrums over the weekend.

GeneLovesJezebel · 01/04/2022 09:14

I’m in a Tory ‘safe seat’ and have never had anyone knock on my door, but I know what to ask if they ever do.

EthelTheAardvark · 01/04/2022 09:17

@Mrstwiddle

It’s fantastic, I really don’t understand all the hate for the Mail, you’d never get something like this in the Guardian.
Maybe the fact that it's utterly bigoted and mendacious has something to do with it?
Slothtoes · 01/04/2022 09:18

Don’t wait for them Gene. I’m in the same boat as you are. The complacent, established MPs with a massive majority and all their rival candidates still need to know we care about this. Email them and ask! Flowers

CrossPurposes · 01/04/2022 09:23

The Communist Party of Britain (not the Communist Party of Great Britain - I can't tell what they think from their website) have Mary Davis writing this in the Morning Star: morningstaronline.co.uk/article/f/why-we-need-womens-movement-today

The Lisa Nandy video

Torunette · 01/04/2022 09:30

@GeneLovesJezebel

They appear to be reducing the number of comments allowed, as there were 4 comments at about 7am, and there’s still only 4.
Yep. I posted a comment at 1am and it's still not appeared.
JoodyBlue · 01/04/2022 09:36

Brava to Maya, Heather and Caroline. I have shared to FB, stating that whatever you think, silencing on the issue is bad (paraphrasing myself). When times are hard, we all look towards the leaders and ask ourselves where are the leaders. Well, here they are! So grateful FlowersFlowersFlowers

I’m a Labour voter and this is mortifying.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/04/2022 09:39

What a fantastic article! For all people's issues with the Mail, they have done some good reporting on this. So comprehensive.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/04/2022 09:41

Is it in the print edition? I might pop out and get one if so.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/04/2022 09:44

Do you think some readers will think it’s an April fools joke? I mean, some of the MPs responses read like a joke.

I imagine they will! Particularly Nandy.

Looks like this campaign is going to the top today:

It is an honour to have been asked by the Prime Minister to pop in to Parliament today and explain to a packed house, with some simple slides, what a women is. #RespectmySex #LocalElections2022

I'll bring this. Our message is #RespectMySex if you want my X.

Oh gods I could cry. This is IMMENSE.

Women are so amazing when we get together and get angry.

teawamutu · 01/04/2022 09:57

And all of the above is still true despite the date and me being a twat BlushGrin

Linguini · 01/04/2022 10:00

slothtoes do you have any links to the threads about communists and this issue please? I’m very left wing, and I’m gender critical, and not really feeling that my view on this is in line with many in the Labour Party.

The Morning Star (the "communist's news") have been consistently gender critical.

ResisterRex · 01/04/2022 10:01

teawamutu just saw Parliament's not sitting. So Caroline must be at a private meeting of some kind. Still!

bellinisurge · 01/04/2022 10:14

"Where will the vote go?". It probably won't go anywhere because we have no one to vote for . Yet. Which means the Tories win. But that is not GC wonen's fault. That is Labour's fault for losing women with this NoDebate/BeKind bull shit. That ship sailed a long time ago and Labour needs to work harder.

DomesticatedZombie · 01/04/2022 10:24

@Westfacing

Someone please tell me that Lisa Nandy didn't really say in relation to a child rapist:

I think trans women are women and they should be accommodated in a prison of their choosing

She did, aye. There is film footage.

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 01/04/2022 10:35

Someone on my Facebook made the point that the Daily Mail will judge the success of the online article partly by how many views it gets and how often people click on their Share icons to share it on social. So I’m going to do that.

Its nice to see a load of supportive comments underneath as well (even if some of them seem to be late to the party and verge on 'its about time someone did something about it).
