Report in a couple of papers this morning...
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10536737/West-End-drama-gender-neutral-toilets-Theatregoers-blast-gross-restrooms.html
I might have gone (if the tickets hadn't been so expensive) but I shall certainly make a note to avoid this theatre in the future...

It shows the lies because it shows the males are quite happy to invite the same men who would apparently beat them up if they used the mens into spaces with them

excellent point @Whatwouldscullydo

Kimilybob · 23/02/2022 10:11

No i say toilets like this dont exist which they dont. I think some have chosen anything to moan about whether in reality or otherwise.

NecessaryScene · 23/02/2022 10:15

"Like this" being the ones at the Playhouse Theatre in London, described in the article.

So how far does this belief system of yours go? Hmm

Does the Playhouse Theatre exist?

Does London exist?

Does this forum even exist?

LunaLights · 23/02/2022 10:16

How many times can it be said READ THE ARTICLE @Kimilybob.

READ THE ARTICLE

READ THE ARTICLE.

It does happen, it did happen and it will happen.

FFS read the article and stop making such ignorant remarks.

Can you explain exactly what toilets you are claiming don't exist?

Are you having a bad day? Because you made another strange comment on another thread?

Is this like the 'communal changing rooms with no cubicles' don't exist tactic?

The do exist, I have been in them. Others have also stated they have been in them.

Just because you, personally, have not be in them doesn't mean they cease to exist. Just because you, personally, feel absolutely fine with only having gender neutral facilities doesn't mean the needs of others do not exist where only single sex facilities will work.

Kimilybob · 23/02/2022 10:30

Ive simply asked where they are. Youd think id be simple for someone to give a location.

As i said, chasing ghosts.

VirginMedium · 23/02/2022 10:31

@Kimilybob in my daughter's previous school is where some of them are

LunaLights · 23/02/2022 10:32

Read the article.

Or

Read the posts that have responded to your drivel.

Playhouse Theatre in London

As stated in the article.

Kimilybob · 23/02/2022 10:33

The kind of toukets that dont exist are ones with urinals encouraging women and girls to go in and use them.

VirginMedium · 23/02/2022 10:33

@Kimilybob, so the inference is now that if they DID exist you would object?

Kimilybob · 23/02/2022 10:34

I would question the reason for their existence....if they existed.

VirginMedium · 23/02/2022 10:35

@Kimilybob the ones at my daughter's school were extra diversity and inclusion, because no one used them and teeneagers went there to have sex (because no one used them)

Kimilybob · 23/02/2022 10:36

Those theatre toikets have separate cubicle not sharing uninal space and areas with men....:rolleyes

Kimilybob · 23/02/2022 10:38

Yes teenagers will be teenagers but thats not fircing women to use mens toilets.

LunaLights · 23/02/2022 10:40

From the ARTICLE linked in the OP, the one this thread is about….

“A real West End drama over gender-neutral toilets: Theatregoers blast 'gross' restrooms where women are forced to file past men at urinals”

And

“The Playhouse, in Covent Garden, has received rave reviews for its rendition of Cabaret, which explores promiscuity and gender fluidity at The Kit Kat Klub, a seedy nightclub in 1930s Berlin.

But behind the scenes, some theatregoers were 'mortified' to encounter the updated toilets which left women with 'no choice' but to pass men using urinals to reach the cubicles.”

VirginMedium · 23/02/2022 10:41

it becomes 'forcing' when there is no other option, doesn't it. you can down play this, because a woman can of course 'choose' not to go to the toilet, or exit the theatre and find a pub or something with a toilet they can use

Helleofabore · 23/02/2022 10:43

@Kimilybob

They do exist. I have been one somewhere in the UK on my trips around in the past two years. A male toilet that simply had the sticker replaced with a 'toilet' sign and no sex designation.

I cannot give you a location because I travel a lot. But, the article states quite clearly where the one relevant to the thread was.

But do please crack on with your denial that they exist.

And it cannot be said any more clearer or any more times that they exist due to organisations taking a quick and no cost approach to have 'gender neutral' toilets that they may need for Stonewall points, or for funding from specific providers, or just fucking laziness.

You might also like to address your other enlightening posts about people who actually have told you the other reasons that 'gender neutral' toilets don't work in very practical ways.

But, maybe your aim here is just to admonish and denigrate others who hold a different opinion to yours.

If there were heterosexual couples using them, then doesn't that just prove that mixed-sex toilets are a good thing and are encouraging inclusivity?

GrinGrinGrin
Hmm

@emeraldjones

Complain complain complain!! And not just on public forums. The only way to get the message over is to flood (!) every organisation that thinks it's ok with letters and emails preferably addressed to the CEO or MD or whatever they call themselves these days. It seems to me that decision makers live in a world of their own and unless or until it becomes uncomfortably clear they will assume no one minds.
^ THIS!! Absolutely this.

The Bridge theatre tried this gender neutral toilets thing. I complained very vocally too the staff on duty, and I heard others do the same. I also emailed Nicholas Hyntner.

A few months later the gender neutral signs were gone...

Helleofabore · 23/02/2022 10:48

So, you have been to these toilets in the threatre since they have been changed?

Are you saying that those women saying they had to pass the men at the urinals are lying?

They are just scaremongering for kicks? And those confirming that toilets like this are in existence are also liars?
