The Vice article says he's 34 but the Mail says he's 31.

Perhaps he is trans-age.

nauticant · 02/12/2021 14:01

A far less entertaining than the article in the Mail:

thecritic.co.uk/physician-heal-thyself/

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/12/2021 14:05

Ohhhhh, that's a good one @nauticant!

That DM article is fucking wonderful Grin

Troll! Whining! Bizarre rambling tweets! Kicked up a fuss!

Mind you, it's a sad state of affairs when you feel vindicated by the bloody Daily Mail. Still though.

RedDogsBeg · 02/12/2021 14:12

@littlbrowndog

Great piece.

Also like how they said that he got posters and flags removed

Yes, so did I. They've covered all his behaviours and left it to the readers to judge what that makes him look like.

Twitter troll GP is the icing on the cake and that phrase will stick to him like glue.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 02/12/2021 14:13

Oh that's good too @nauticant!! I particularly like that the Vice article and the terf badge were mentioned Smile Thank you Sarah Phillimore

Wasn't his justification for the first Vice article that he and his henchmen were attempting to get ahead of the first Daily Mail article published? (Because Vice is comparable in terms of circulation? Good luck with that..) I wonder if the Fail saw it and decided to respond in kind?

(Extremely unlikely, I know, but it has kind of worked out that way..!)

FlyingOink · 02/12/2021 14:30

I think the DM was doing exactly that. I think they'd saved up this absolute stonker of an article until Harrop had his final say in Vice. They knew he'd want something else published after the tribunal. The timing is spot on, I don't think that's by accident.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 02/12/2021 14:55

Ah yes good point @CompleteGinasaur.

I'm very disappointed about Vice as I liked their tattoo shows (TV channel) and lots of other terrible reality shows

(I realise this is not the major issue here Grin)

CompleteGinasaur · 02/12/2021 15:01

Another glorious example of him digging his own grave with his mouth, then (to paraphrase). Long may he continue to be constitutionally incapable of keeping his moronic and venomous mouth shut...

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 02/12/2021 15:11

I can't imagine his surgery are happy about being named in articles like this.

I think he has definitely torpedoed his career, and everyone who said the one month thing suspension wasn't actually the most important aspect of all this, was right.

RedDogsBeg · 02/12/2021 15:25

Good point and I agree not great PR for the surgery at all.

ShagMeRiggins · 02/12/2021 15:46

@waterlego

It did not say Woman, Women, Noun, Adult Human Female.

It said Woman, and the second word was written in the ‘how to pronounce’ fashion.

Agree, @ShagMeRiggins. And the upside-down, back-to-front ‘e’ is called a schwa, just in case you were interested! (It’s a neutral vowel sound).

I am interested. Very. Which is why I was frustrated at not being able to use my words properly.

Feeling full of sisterly love for those who are equally seething at the woman/women disgrace.

Cheers.

More than 200 comments under the Mail article. Almost all incredulous and newly-peaked.

Already well over 300 comments. Dr Deplorable is not going down well with DM readers.

Fluffymule · 02/12/2021 16:04

Mail Online is the biggest online media site in the UK. That story is highly likely to be seen by a number if not a fair few of the patient population at his GP Practice.

I wonder if anything will be raised by patients, and if people decline appointments with him and ask for another Dr instead in the future.

With the issues around scarcity of appointments and doctors right now I can't see that being welcome news for the Practice Manager. Having their appointment capacity cut because patients don't want to see him.

Doubtful. The trans patients in the area know he's sympathetic, they'll ask for him.

It’s very hard to imagine any women patients wanting to be seen by him. Not unless they identify as trans, anyway.

Fluffymule · 02/12/2021 16:09

But isn't the Trans population tiny, like less than 1% or something? Surely not enough to fill the daily appointment list of a GP?

Perhaps he'll move to work specifically in that specialism somewhere else.

BreadInCaptivity · 02/12/2021 16:11

You might want to look at this from one of the tribunal tweets team in relation to the latest Vice article - thread specifically directed to Hunte:

He works out of CMAGIC in addition to his duties as a family doctor with the Brownlow practice.

I think he'll move too, that's what he's pushing for I think. He wants to be the go to Dr for hormones and get a very good.living in the process.

RedToothBrush · 02/12/2021 16:25

Would you want to be treated by a GP who had been suspended for a month because they weren't fit to practice? Is he suddenly fit to practice on day 31?

If he is labelled as the 'suspended unfit doctor' it doesn't matter what its for.

I have to say, that I suspect that once a few people in the area know about it, the gossip will spread. No one will care what he has actually done or said (Oh the irony of having something in common with JKR), they just won't want to be treated by him if there is an alternative available.

The only downside is the shortage of doctors, so his career won't be that affected, but he certainly won't have his pick of the best posts. He will get the rather more crappy jobs no one else applies to.

Thefartingsofaofdenmarkstreet · 02/12/2021 16:31

Reading that DM article and the comments it strikes me that if Harrop thinks he is assisting trans people by acting like such a complete and utter bellend then he is sorely mistaken.

Glad to see our Steph gets a mention as well Smile

I still don't get it though. In Harrop and Hunte, we have two men, one intelligent enough to go to medical school and become a doctor, and one talented enough to find work at the BBC. And they both seem hell bent on flushing it all down the bog? Can people really be that arrogant, lack that much self awareness?

I'm starting to feel the same about Owen Jones. There is no doubt that, objectively, he is an insightful, talented writer. But his twitter is starting to become like parody, some of the people he is quoting and retweeting are, um, 'interesting', and he seems to be less and less bothered about retaining any credibility as a journalist, and more and more interested in becoming a left wing Katie Hopkins. It's a shame really.

Motorina · 02/12/2021 16:32

@Sonex

Why is he wearing scrubs at home while on suspension and what is up with his walls?
  1. He probably sleeps in them. He’s the type.
  2. The suspension doesn’t kick in for another, uhhhh, 26 days.
