Discussions about speech sounds and the meaning of Go Well as well as Agent Hunte and Disgraced Dr Deplorable - this thread truly has it all!

Seriously though, reading this from the judgement in the light of his second Vice interview!? What on earth was he thinking?

I just got deleted for quoting the last paragraph of the Vice article and asking if it showed insight.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 02/12/2021 10:13

I really think this should have been a case where reinstatement wasn't automatic, because things like this article really should be considered.

It's bad enough wearing an offensive lanyard but he could argue "well the panel didn't advise me not to wear an offensive lanyard". (Although this isn't displaying much critical thinking skills for a doctor). Talking to the press in this fashion though, this was explicitly mentioned! And the panel explained how and why not his wasn't meeting his obligations as a doctor. And yet he goes straight out and does it again.

It's astounding really. He earnestly assured he has gained insight, learnt a lesson and won't do it again. Well clearly he hasn't learnt a lesson and he will do it again - familiar male behaviour to lots of us here, I am sure.

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 02/12/2021 11:24

As if Harrop was ever going to listen to a female mentor.

Oh DM, gotta love the DM...

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/12/2021 11:59

They have been providing some excellent coverage on this for some years now - right back to the Man Friday protests.

They take no prisoners, do they? Twitter troll - I can't work out if that's worse that the use of unwise, naive and more during the tribunal and in the determination.

Does this merit its own thread?

Datun · 02/12/2021 12:21

Well that Daily Mail article includes the lot, doesn't it.

I'd forgotten how he went for J. K. Rowling. Likening her to Jimmy Savile is going to flush his credibility down the toilet forever more. He can't say anything about anyone, because the public will think yeah but you think J. K. Rowling is like Jimmy Savile. And more than that, you think your ideology can justify it.

I see they have included Hayden's responses in the article as well.

Yes. It's quite extraordinary to see "family doctor" and "Twitter troll" in the same item.

SH's responses are quite an insight into the open airing of what seems to be advice as to what constitutes a threshold.

iirc, didn't the retraction attract some criticism from some who were of the opinion that it shouldn't have been issued?

Why is he wearing scrubs at home while on suspension and what is up with his walls?

Rightsraptor · 02/12/2021 12:52

I did enjoy reading that. Twitter troll GP, indeed!

On a minor note, how is a digital poster 'ripped down'? Not sure the DM is quite in the 21st century yet.

JustcameoutGC · 02/12/2021 12:53

I love how they keep using the picture of him in the mauve pink suit.

nauticant · 02/12/2021 13:00

There are 4 photos of people. Two are of women. Two are of men dressed in extraordinarily and eyeball-peeling shiny outfits.

Datun · 02/12/2021 13:00

I'm not on Twitter, but I'm sure they were. I imagine those people are backing away now at a rate of knots.

RedDogsBeg · 02/12/2021 13:02

That DM article is a complete evisceration of Harrop's behaviour, they've certainly pulled no punches.

What he said is there for all to see and judge for themselves, the article covers everything and finishes off with a reasonable and measured quote from LGBA.

The mind truly boggles.

But the tribunal judgement did mention that he articulates the right noises terribly well, it's the not acting on them that they were concerned about. Looks like they were absolutely right.

And the shoes

The article pulls no punches i love how they describe his tweets as bizarre and rambling.

To be fair, given the likely age demographic of DM readers, I'm not sure that coming up with an accurate word (not that I know what it would be) would mean much to them.

The blanking out/erasure of the poster? Removal doesn't quite convey it but I don't know what would.

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/12/2021 13:24

The pre-moderated comments are going up in the Mail now.

I think it's fair tomsay that the readership is unimpressed with Dr Deplorable.

One from a chap in France
He has a sense his views are superior and there can be no opposition. But he also makes outrageous comparisons and draws conclusions based upon peoples reaction to those compared. He understands nothing of people, risk and opportunity, he should stick with test tubes and shouldnt be working among people. Whether he should be around children with his views is a reasonable question. Children should be brought up to question everything and hear all views not only those with which he concurs. Professionally he should be opened minded, Id draw the conclusion he isnt. Odd man.

Great piece.

Also like how they said that he got posters and flags removed
