This must be a pisstake - I feel like I’m living in an alternative reality! Must remind my husband not to shower too much in case he becomes feminine especially since he always pinches my shampoo, shower gel and moisturiser!! 😂😅😂😅

@Yamaya

What is wrong with that.

You're all being very cruel and unnecessary. Bunch of horrible playground bullies. Grow up.

Have you heard of "Everyday Sexism Project"?

It's about how sexism and derogatory stereotypes aimed at women become so commonplace they are embodied into people's everyday thoughts. Women don't "play with their hair", they

That's what's wrong with this, it's a crock of shit, and it's sad you can't even see that, unless of course you're a bloke, then you won't get it.

If a man wants to "pass for a woman" because they feel they are a woman, they shouldn't need a masterclass in it, they should be themselves, which is being a woman. If they need a masterclass then they're faking it.

Interesting. From the Pass as a male one. Get a masculine haircut from a barber or men’s hairstylist. When my non-binary DC did this, they still were charged twice as much as males would have been.

TheDogsMother · 06/11/2021 11:52

Wow I must up my Wommanin game ! I am now smiling and playing with my hair. DH looks nervous Grin

PleasantBirthday · 06/11/2021 11:54

Whilst you have your Hat of Empathy on try using it for the women of this thread who find the whole idea of their innate sexuality being nothing other than a set of stage directions!

You can't have empathy for women, you get empathy from women. You don't even need to write that one down.

ArtemesiaK · 06/11/2021 11:54

I love this in the Q&A.....
"If I'm already a woman, could I use these tips to become more ladylike?

Yes, but you could also explore WikiHow for more articles that could be helpful to you. For example, you might enjoy this one: How to Become More Feminine."

Switch82 · 06/11/2021 11:55

The questions at the end advising minors! Ffs this is beyond ridiculous. Why on earth anyone thinks this makes you a woman is beyond me.

DuesToTheDirt · 06/11/2021 11:55

Stockings? Loofah? I'm obviously woman-ing wrong.

LifesTooShortToLearnPolish · 06/11/2021 11:56

I've got two X chromosomes... does that count?

NecessaryScene · 06/11/2021 11:58

They get acceptable body language and personal space all wrong in a way that is creepy, intimidating and down right scary.

To the extent that some photos of this become almost memes.

Unless they manage to miraculously convert their male pheromones to female ones, it ain't happening. So much of how we relate to others is in our biology.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 06/11/2021 11:59

Whoops…I’m not a woman. Didn’t shower this morning, no shaving because it’s Autumn. Hair not styled. Must be a man then.

Whitefire · 06/11/2021 11:59

Being a woman sounds like really hard work.

Ellie56 · 06/11/2021 12:02

What's wrong with it? It's a list of outdated and sexist stereotypes is what's wrong with it.

Yep a complete load of old bollocks.

Zebradanio · 06/11/2021 12:03

If a set of instructions is required in order to pass as a woman, how to behave, having empathy, using hand gestures, then it weakens the argument of being born in the wrong body. Because surely a real woman would just know how to be a real woman. And a real man would know how to be a real man. They wouldn't need a set of instructions. So a woman born in a man's body would already know how to behave as a woman surely. Confused

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 06/11/2021 12:03

@PleasantBirthday of course! How silly of me 😏

MadameMonk · 06/11/2021 12:03

@Whatthechicken

It reminded me of a 1940s book I have called ‘Every Women’s Doctor Book’. It’s all just so regressive. The book makes for hilarious, if not disturbing reading. These stereotypes are taking right back there. Hope the pics have posted in order.
I’ve just found and bought this book on eBay… it’s so shocking, I must read it all! Thanks for the recommendation!

Reminded me of that song ‘Wives & Lovers’ that goes:
‘Hey! Little Girl
Comb your hair, fix your makeup
Soon he will open the door
Don't think because there's a ring on your finger
You needn't try anymore’

GU24Mum · 06/11/2021 12:04

Note to self - must remember to sort out a white flower for my hair next time I've got a white top on.............

My family will absolutely confirm that the adult female in this house indeed does get very shouty and assertive........

But for anyone asking what's wrong with it, it's all about stererotypes (which bear very little reality to the vast, vast majority of my female friends and colleagues) and then men telling women not to be nasty if we dare to point how how ridiculous it is.

If the article gives a guide to anything, it's about how to be a girly 1950s stereotype.

Justgivemewine · 06/11/2021 12:04

Oh no, dh is learning to touch type. Should I be worried?

Although I got mistaken for a man from behind the other day despite long hair much to the embarrassment of the shop assistant when I turned around 😆😆 so maybe dh and I could just swap 🤷‍♀️

Oh, go away...
PlanktonsComputerWife · 06/11/2021 12:10

Ada Lovelace thought, "I could be an outstanding mathematician, be the first to realise certain theoretical applications of the computer, write the world's first computer program-- all before dying of uterine cancer of 36."

Then she thought, "Nah, tee hee, better flick my hair and put on some clean stockings."

I agree. Seems to be just another excuse to have a go at trans people.
Fieldofgreycorn · 06/11/2021 12:13

Of course many people adopt masculine and feminine traits.
What has that got to do with being a man or a woman?
Nothing.

They are responding to the gendered world they were brought up in, same as non-tans people do. I don’t think the article says these things actually makes you a woman.

Porfre · 06/11/2021 12:13

Reading that article just makes me sad.

They are trying so hard to try and pass as what there idea of a woman is.

I'm not sure what this feeling they all have inside that makes them think they are somehow in the wrong body and how acting in the way is described in the article is meant to help with those feelings.

If they want to wear a dress or makeup they should just be able to so this ad a man without having to try and 'pass' as a stereotype of what they think a woman is.

sashh · 06/11/2021 12:13

How do I type like a woman on the internet?

WTF?
