I think you and I must know very different people

Yes we must go to different shops, offices, parks, and everything.

MonsignorMirth · 06/11/2021 11:31

@Yamaya

It's not a guide on how to be a woman, it's a guide on how to pass for a woman if you were born biologically male. There's a difference.
Are you able to answer the question I asked you earlier about what femininity and masculinity have to do with being a man or a woman? Or are you going to ignore it because you don't know?

How to pass as a woman using my method:

  1. Aged 18, actively study Kurt Cobain's dress sense. Copy.
  2. Continue for 25 years whilst still being discriminated against and modifying your behaviour on the basis of your biological sex.
  3. Have minor womaning crisis due to failure to deal with grey hair, nails, skirts, skin, make up, high heels and uncomfortable (=women's) clothes in order to meet social expectations
  4. Think fuck it and continue to dress like Kurt Cobain with additional cagoules.

Still a woman.

Conniethesensible · 06/11/2021 11:33

God damn. This article helps no one.

nameyouwhat · 06/11/2021 11:34

shit..I am off for a shower

Snugglepumpkin · 06/11/2021 11:35

Odd.
I was always taught not to play with my hair as it is often interpreted either as a 'look at me' or flirting.

Those aren't gender traits to be 'adopted'.
They are instructions on how to perform womanface.

Alcemeg · 06/11/2021 11:35

I can't find a similar one on How to Pass as a Man...?

@Fieldofgreycorn

The majority of the population display/ adopt many of these gender traits and behaviours - males and females. All you’re doing is mocking transgender people.
We are mocking reductive stereotypes of women.
WeeBisom · 06/11/2021 11:38

I don’t understand why we shouldn’t mock this absolute shite. It’s absurd, regressive nonsense. I don’t see how it’s transphobic to scoff at the idea that “women play with their hair and smile a lot”.

Vanishun · 06/11/2021 11:38

Mockery of the article aside - what an awful, exhausting and selfish way this would be to exist. Constantly worrying and fussing over your appearance in every way, and faking everything all the time in your own head, always. A bit like when I struggle with anorexia come to think of it.

IfNot · 06/11/2021 11:39

Well I have big hair and wear make up and gesture a lot, but I don’t pass the “don’t be assertive” section Sad

HereticFanjo · 06/11/2021 11:39

I often think that by the TRA definition I'm more a hairy man than a woman. Funnily enough my femaleness is encoded into my DNA rather than my hair flickage rate.

ArtemesiaK · 06/11/2021 11:39

Hilarious! I think I've passed for a woman most of my life (as far as I know) in spite of doing little more than keeping clean! :) My DH showers regularly, but still smells like a man....( I'm surprised that sort of thing doesn't seem to come up in discussions about lesbians not fancying transwomen....)

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 06/11/2021 11:40

One of the questions underneath underneath is “how do I type on the internet like a woman?”
Creeeepppyyyy!!!

No need for all that. As MN Classics teaches us, all it's clearly referring to is how a lady will by default bash aimlessly at the keyboard with her breasts until a wonderful man comes along to help her understand how to use it properly Grin

trimtops · 06/11/2021 11:42

that poor shop assistant!!

Not one-handed.

SisterWendyBuckett · 06/11/2021 11:43

Mocking transgender people?
Pull the other one.

Women are just not going to put up with this regressive and sexist shit any more. Time to get over it!

No. We are mocking the facile stereotypes that reduce women to head tilts, clean hair and smiles.

THAT is fucking insulting.

IntemperateSpirits · 06/11/2021 11:44

Also could that sentence read any more like a Wikipedia page for a pet breed

This. It's like whoever wrote that reductive twaddle doesn't actually see women as humans.

Tavelo · 06/11/2021 11:44

The man version, you should think of yourself as better than all women in all situations, even if you know it's not true and even though women rejecting you for this will likely lead you to suicidal tendencies.

Helleofabore · 06/11/2021 11:45

I saw this the other day too

No, I think article is the one doing the mocking.
Queenoftheashes · 06/11/2021 11:45

I’m often dirty with terrible skin and hair and fairly aggressive. No one ever thinks I’m a man.

Anyway I’ve sent some feedback on the article.

Queenoftheashes · 06/11/2021 11:45

It’s good they have an option of “this topic is stupid” on there

Thingybob · 06/11/2021 11:46

This graphic is a good representation of interactions I've had with several transwomen and it is something I dislike intensely.

They get acceptable body language and personal space all wrong in a way that is creepy, intimidating and down right scary.
