It gets worse. I’ve just been reading the one on how to transition & it says that women use words like ‘sweetie’, ‘bless your heart’ and ‘dear’.

DuesToTheDirt · 06/11/2021 20:02

does anyone remember in Men Behaving Badly when Gary says something about differences between men & women and Tony says:"it's how we take our t-shirts off"

Very true, and I've noticed this one. I wonder why it is though. Disarranging hairstyles? Protecting your modesty while undressing in front of other people? I'd never dream of taking a top off the way DH does, it would seem really bizarre.

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 06/11/2021 20:08

Wait what?

You just pull it over your head dont you?

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 06/11/2021 20:10

@groundcontroltomontydon

umm, how else does anyone walk? Like the dance scene in the Inbetweeners movie? Everyone copy Neil.
Im more of a natural Will
MrsTophamHat · 06/11/2021 20:12

I wouldn't reach behind and pull over my head like that. I pull both arms inside the shirt and then push the collar over my head. I don't really know why. But i was also a bra swivveller until I got a properly fitting one, thanks to Mumsnet!

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 06/11/2021 20:20

Oh i do both depending on whether im taking my makeup off or not 🤔

Bra swiveller? GET BEHIND ME SATAN 😱

Deliriumoftheendless · 06/11/2021 20:28

I play with my hair. It’s part habit part self soothing.

When I was a kid I did it so much I ended up pulling loads out and had to have some lotion from the doctor as I had a bald patch.

Maybe don’t do it that much.

That’s my Top Tip.

MrsTophamHat · 06/11/2021 20:34

Haha i am a convert now @RufustheBadgeringReindeer , honest!

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 06/11/2021 20:46

😀

bumpertobumper · 06/11/2021 20:47

It was this but in the introduction that stood out to me:

"Whether you are transgender or just having fun"

So the men who are trying to pass as women just 'for fun' but aren't trans, what sort of fun would that be and we aren't allowed to question their identity and have to let them in our spaces.
If we were to say some were doing it just for fun that could get us into trouble I imagine, but here they are clearly admitting that not all men who dress up as women are trans...
But don't worry, it never happens...Hmm

sharksarecool · 06/11/2021 20:51

Stop the thread! Why is bra-swivelling bad?

Oh bless your heart sweetie dear what a lot of pish.
ArabellaScott · 06/11/2021 21:05

@Yusanaim

Don't kick out behind to close a door. I knew someone waiting to change gender - they had long hair and flowing skirts but when they wanted to close an open door they kicked backwards with their dainty sandal to close it. It somehow seemed something women dont' do.
Does this count for dishwashers?

.... only if they want to sound like Miss Marple after one too many sherries.

I'm now stuck thinking about what they always got made to write in the Chalet School in the 30s: 'her voice was ever sweet and low; an excellent thing in woman'. As opposed to shouting 'suck my dick'.

Bloody hell, do you think that substitute matron who talked loudly & used coarse language was actually trying to transition???

Artichokeleaves · 06/11/2021 21:17

Possibly in more enlightened times they'd have considered it.

Or alternatively taken the gin off her at fruhstuck.

Confession time re Hair Flick
After years of short hair, I grew out my hair during covid. One day, I found myself doing the hair flick to get the hair out of my face. So maybe it is associated with long, loose hair rather than the female sex per se. I can't image Margaret Thatcher doing one. On the other hand, maybe transwomen are really emulating male rock stars.

Queenoftheashes · 06/11/2021 21:31

Yeah I know a man with long hair which he wears loose and the flicking is constant. I don’t notice anyone else doing it though.

Tom Gay had a very narrow escape.
TravelLost · 06/11/2021 21:33

Well I think I finally understood why women often have so many issues with men. It’s there in full sight in that article. To be a woman (aka to not be a man) you have to be
getting in touch with traits often associated with femininity, which include empathy, honesty, affection and being nurturing

So if I understand right, men are NOT honest, don’t have any empathy and can’t either affection or nurturing.

No wonder there is so much violence from men on women tbh….

elgreco · 06/11/2021 21:36

I swivel the bra. Big boobs, long back, short arms.

drinkingwineoutofamug · 06/11/2021 21:55

@emulsioned

How to pass as a woman using my method:
  1. Aged 18, actively study Kurt Cobain's dress sense. Copy.
  2. Continue for 25 years whilst still being discriminated against and modifying your behaviour on the basis of your biological sex.
  3. Have minor womaning crisis due to failure to deal with grey hair, nails, skirts, skin, make up, high heels and uncomfortable (=women's) clothes in order to meet social expectations
  4. Think fuck it and continue to dress like Kurt Cobain with additional cagoules.

Still a woman.

Me too!! Today was my slipknot hoodie day though. Reading through the guide I passed at 2 things. Yesterday I had my hair and brows done. You could plait my leg hair 🤭
borntobequiet · 06/11/2021 22:07

I swivel the bra and stuff boobs in cups until properly distributed and supported. The swivelling is irrelevant.
