And by ‘peaked’ I mean my usually mild mannered don’t rock the boat just be kind oh mums going on about that trans stuff again ABSOLUTELY LOST HIS SHIT at 17yo DD telling him ‘super straight’ is transphobic as fuck.

I’ve never heard him swear as much as he did at DD telling him ladycock is a thing. He’s not remotely homophobic but being told he should theoretically accept ladycock into his sex life was a tipping point.

He gets it now.

That’s great news OP!

AllhailTomnook · 27/08/2021 07:39

GrinGrinGrin

Why does your DD think anyone wants to discuss their sex life with her?!

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 27/08/2021 07:42

Is your DD trans? What do they get out of forcing genital preferences onto people?

PandorasMailbox · 27/08/2021 07:44

I was a bit concerned when I read the thread title tbh Grin

I've peaked a few men too Wink

borntobequiet · 27/08/2021 07:44

I think that if I were the father of a young adult daughter and she was telling me nonsense like this, I would genuinely be fearful that such extreme nativity with regard to sex, sexual practices and men’s sexual behaviour could result in her being put in some very uncomfortable/dangerous situations. (Plus I’d be astonished by her credulity.)

FatAnkles · 27/08/2021 07:48

I think my DH would be the same. I think I would be the same. Grin

"Ladycock" indeed...Hmm

nauticant · 27/08/2021 07:57

Do you think your DD's analysis was along the lines that she would be willing to accept ladycock in a relationship (assuming she fancied the ladycock owner) and so everyone else should be willing to do likewise?

Ceto · 27/08/2021 08:01

Man overbears teenager's argument by shouting and swearing at her rather than using reason. And that's peaking?

IWantT0BreakFree · 27/08/2021 08:05

Yeah this.

I’m glad he has managed to locate his common sense on the issue but I can’t applaud a grown man behaving like that towards a teenage girl.

And isn’t it a bit hypocritical of him to treat her that way if he’s only just “getting it” himself as a much older adult who should have more sense?

nauticant · 27/08/2021 08:06

What if the "argument" is that someone's sexual orientation has to be subject to another person's gender identity, thus meaning that lesbians are not permitted make a blanket refusal to have sex with people having a penis?

Wimpeyspread · 27/08/2021 08:06

I doubt reason would have had any effect - 17 year olds with a bee in their bonnet are not reasonable
Rapunzelsplait · 27/08/2021 08:06

@Ceto

Yeah - weird thread.

Because no parent has ever lost it at a nearly adult child being a dick before Hmm
IWantT0BreakFree · 27/08/2021 08:11

Right but they (or their partners as in this case) don’t tend to come on MN expecting people to congratulate them on it.

Karwomannghia · 27/08/2021 08:12

Having a sweary argument with a teenager is not ok, I bet she was terrified.

DillonPanthersTexas · 27/08/2021 08:24

Not ideal but good luck finding a parent who has not been utterly exasperated at the self-righteousness of a teenager who think they are wise beyond their years because after spending time in their peer groups echo chamber.

AlfonsoTheMango · 27/08/2021 08:27

Good for your DH. Only you know whether or not your daughter will pay attention, though.

TooWicked · 27/08/2021 08:29

Ladydick peaked my DH too, around the time that superstraight was trending all over the place.

TooWicked · 27/08/2021 08:33

Telling someone that not accepting someone else’s penis into their sex life is transphobic, is rapey as fuck.

I’m not surprised he was swearing.

nauticant · 27/08/2021 08:36

Superstraight was a fantastic phenomenon because it triggered trans activists to go on the attack and for once they had to make their position explicit: gender identity has to override consent in certain contexts or the person withholding their consent is transphobic.

This made a large number of people sit up and pay attention for the first time.

Happymum12345 · 27/08/2021 08:41

I think when normally calm, balanced and well mannered people react like your dh did, it has more impact than usual shouty, argumentative people.

TheWeeDonkey · 27/08/2021 08:43

I remember once mentioning "ladycock" to a colleague of mine. It was a pretty easygoing office where we could discuss a lot of things, but I think that was the point where she thought I'd truly lost my mind 😂

TheWeeDonkey · 27/08/2021 08:46

Yeah me too! And I'd be having a pretty serious conversation with her about boundaries and safe sex, not just physically but emotional too. She is ripe for coercion and abuse, very concerning.
Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 27/08/2021 08:47

reminded me of this

Dh peaked last night…
OperationDessertStorm · 27/08/2021 08:48

Good for him standing up for his sexuality and everyone elses! It is protected in law. Much better that dd learns this now from her parents.

I’m willing to bet if a gay dad had been goaded into shouting about his sexuality there would be no complaints on here.
