Yes, where is everybody? BBC radio news earlier mentioned politicians condemning (rightly, of course!) racist abuse levelled at Lewis Hamilton. They similarly condemned the horrible racist shit some people online were coming out with following the World Cup.

Why can’t they condemn this? So much of it is obviously rooted in misogyny (I mean, she’s getting this “backlash” for speaking out against misogyny ffs) but honestly death threats are never OK whoever they’re aimed at.

Well, whoever it was - the person who made a pipebomb threat is an ally of yours.

Words are literal violence - unless they contain an actual mention of violence, in which case they are to be interpreted as a jolly jape or understandable exuberance of expression in a hyper-polarised social media environment.
