@ScreamingMeMe I noticed that too. A poster tried to get a TRA to expand a bit more as to how biological reality is harmful and just kept getting told that it erases the existence of transpeople. How? No-one seems able to answer. And as we keep saying, what the hell does trans refer to if there is no such thing as two sexes?

'JK Rowling' is currently trending on Twitter, and when you click on her name in the trends sidebar the top 5 tweets that come up are all hostile tweets (Jeff Brutlag, Sooz Kempner, Mark Grimshaw, Fox Fisher, Nicola Spurling). This doesn't seem to be based on popularity or timing: Rowling's own series of tweets with thousands of likes are not showing anywhere near the top of the 'Top Tweets'. If you manually type her name into the search bar and click 'top' you get a more varied selection of tweets, mostly positive. I have noticed this pattern over and over again with Twitter: the 'Top Tweets' it directs you to are hostile to women, and especially to JKR, and they're not based on likes or timing, but rather seem to be positioned because that's how the powers-that-be on Twitter want to shape your thinking.

The only people that have cast trans activists as a threat to women are the trans activists that have threatened to rape, kill, punch, shoot, dismember, curb stomp, bomb, set fire to, and run over women.

The world is waking up and seeing these activists for what they are-terrorists who are doing absolutely nothing to help trans people.

Obviously a threat is wrong. That needs no clarification or qualification at all.

So why the 'You started it' schtick? (Which is nonsensical because iirc, Spurling said that JKR was a danger to children after her essay).

If threats are wrong, they're wrong, aren't they? People are wrong to send Spurling threats and they're wrong to send Rowling threats. It's very hard to miss that Rowling is getting told by a number of high profile professional kind people that the threats she receives are entirely her own fault for speaking. Including, it seems, Spurling of the Eager Defamation.

They've told her to kill herself (you can sew the posts in the screenshot), so it is actually awful.

It's always distressing to receive such messages.

I don't think I know anyone (except the sort of person who thinks it's OK to send death messages, threats, and abuse to (say) JKR or pretty much any human) who would not decry the content of those screenshots.

Ok fair enough, that is horrible and I hope she's reported it.

So, again the misogynistic view that females are responsible for male violence.

That Spurling has received threats is, of course, reprehensible. But to accuse someone who has never interacted with you or probably even knows of your existence to have 'caused' them is a very wild accusation. But it is very much the current tactic and it has been clear to me exactly what sex the people deploying that tactic are.

They have interacted. Spurling wrote an article about her and tweeted that she was a danger to children, and JK replied to that. That still doesn't mean she has responsibility for the threats to Spurling, of course.
