Having pulled both of my daughters out based on their switching of gender/sex and what Myself and my husband believe are strong safeguarding concerns as a result as well as the general erosion of girls’ rights as a result I’m wondering if it’s now a lost cause? Is there any chance at all of them being challenged or is that it now?

I looked at this person's twitter. Their profile states they are a Guide leader and their posts include various pictures of themselves in uniform at Guide events.

How can GG think that a Guide leader who tweets about her bra size, posts a close-up photo of her straining shirt buttons saying she needs some bigger tops and posts a picture of her cleavage with 'boobs - do you want to see more?' be considered a good role model for girls?

Well, @CriticalCondition, report it to HQ. We all know Helen and Katie got expelled because of a breach of social media policy. Of course they did. Not sure where the tweets you describe fit within their social media policy.

Good for you for complaining. Sadly I don't expect anything will happen. This person will no doubt be in receipt of the same "sacred caste" pass that is handed out to numerous adults with an enthusiastic desire to share their kinks / fetishes on social media while seeking positions working with children.

If that’s what you want to do, don’t do youth work. Kink, BDSM and fetish are not compatible with being a role model for children.

I know what I think would happen to eg. a female teacher or youth worker or GG leader who did this.

Me too. This is a parenting website, ffs.

So a TW has achieved a flagship position as a woman in a woman's leadership position for a children's organisation - and is making clear on social media that they have a distinctly dodgy idea of social boundaries and appropriacy for someone in a responsible position, that would not be accepted in a female in this role. And that either they are not aware of these boundaries, or they believe that there is something about them that excuses this behaviour and makes it justifiable.

This is not doing the public image of TW any favours at all. It would also make me unwilling to trust their judgement to be in charge of my daughter in a meeting they were leading, never mind away on a camp out. Or a mixed sex camp out on the grounds that sex is irrelevant and there will be never be any sex based behaviours to be concerned about.

Do GG have any vetting procedures for leaders beyond DBS checks? This makes them look like a profoundly amateur organisation, not one I’d be entrusting my children to.

As for the individual concerned? When someone shows who they are….

I don’t know what’s more dispiriting - that no one bothered to check, or that they did check and they think it’s acceptable.

The loss of all this infrastructure of groups and networks is heartbreaking. In less than a generation these are going to rot from the inside and it’s going to be so much work to build all this up again for women.

I'm not saying that's the case for this individual or it wouldn't be above board in terms of criminal stuff, but I think there may be some weaknesses in the special sensitive kid gloves DBS procedure that trans people can use, unlike anyone else.

Quite apart from DBS checks, can anyone really imagine a girl guides leader going on about her busting buttons, or saying she'll show you her boobs, or banging on about the size of her silicone implants, and being thought an appropriate girl guide leader?

If so, do girl guides condone all this? Are they going to tell all their leaders that they can put all that online and it's fine?

The buttons and the boobs was bad enough. I was appalled even before I'd seen the photo with the outfit/whip and the one superimposed on a background of identifiable children. I'm struggling to find words now.

How can GG defend this? Just how?

And the Scouts too?

I wonder how many female publicly BDSM fans the Guides have as leaders? My guess is zero.

Or how many Guide leaders share semi exposed pictures of themselves representing their sexual interests on line, regardless of how exciting their sex lives may be. Or would think it was appropriate to do so. Or would believe it was possible to maintain the trust of parents or the image of GG while showing such confusion over boundaries and appropriacy.

This is getting distressing reminiscent of the whole Harrop situation.

Jeeeez I’ve just seen these pics and omg. I always try to keep a fair mind and hope for the best, but this is many parents worst fear playing out. Photos cuddled up with kids, showing the kids faces over social media?! bdsm gear and ‘sexy’ references?! Guns and swords?! Having numerous names including one that is a sexual act! There are so many red flags. It’s not possible not to notice them.
It’s time to ask not just who this person is, how did they get that position but also who are the chain of people that signed off that appointment? They need looking at too.
