Lesbian Visibility Week

As Lesbian Visibility Week comes to an end, I want to make a quick reminder that
ALL LESBIANS ARE VALID!

Cisgender and Transgender women can be lesbians. Transgender men who date women don't consider themselves lesbians. All Lesbians deserve visibility!

Additionally, many have stated that they don't wish to date transgender people. That's fine! Just because someone is in the same dating pool doesn't mean you MUST be attracted to them. Plus genital preference is also totally fine! But don't forget, trans women are women so please do not degrade them just because you personally don't wish to date them.

Plus, let's continue to educate one another on the important information. Like preventing STI's as a lesbian, domestic abuse in lesbian relationships and how to deal with that, safe and consentual sex between lesbians. This is what we need to be educating young lesbians and bisexual women on.

Have a fabulous long weekend all 🤍🌈

‘Valid - late 16th century: from French valide or Latin validus ‘strong’, from valere ‘be strong’.’

Yes, I’m sure some ‘lesbians’ are much physically stronger than others.

Trans Sloths are Sloths. Got it?

ASugarr · 01/05/2021 07:52

@Fromage

Here you are mansplaining again.

As far as I could tell, Lesbian Visibility Week was about shoving to the back of the room, the females who are attracted to females.

How can a woman mansplain? Explain that to me?
OP posts:
Monicuddle · 01/05/2021 07:53

All sloths are valid, including horses. And remember sloths who eat beetroot do NOT consider themselves to be sloths.

JensonsAcolyte · 01/05/2021 07:54

Are sloths who are very active still sloths?

Cailleach1 · 01/05/2021 07:55

Don't forget my boy cat! Further to a discussion on 'political lesbians' on here, I discovered he fitted the nouveau moniker of lesbians beyond it's precise meaning.

HamsterV2 · 01/05/2021 07:55

I learnt a new fact last night. Apparently lobsters' bladders are in their heads and they urinate as a form of communication. They literally have little pee nozzles under their eyes.

Is that a sort of territory marking thing? Spraying piss everywhere as a dominance display?

Or do they actually have something interesting to say? 🦞

JensonsAcolyte · 01/05/2021 07:57

That takes ‘piss head’ to a marvellous new level.

I need to know more about this.

Thanks for starting a new thread. I am disappointed we didn’t get an answer to the concerns we raised in the previous thread so maybe this will get answered here.

purgatorypotholes posted some lesbian accounts of abuse suffered by people who believe those lesbians were transphobic for disagreeing that lesbians can be males, with or without penises.

And purgatorypotholes also posted this link too

(And this link should contain a TRIGGER WARNING for the abuse it shows)

lesbian-rights-nz.org/shame-receipts/

My post was this.

Just reading these is distressing enough and I am not a lesbian. I cannot imagine how these people continue to be supported by the LGBT community.

Maybe Shizuku would like to address these accounts posted by purgatory and the content of the lesbian-rights website....

And maybe, in light of this being Lesbian Visibility Week, Shizuku could also tell us exactly what the trans activists are doing to change this abusive culture that is continuing to build.

If you tell us how you are going about making these changes, maybe we can support you if they are, actually, positive changes for lesbians.

So, what are you and the activist community doing to address the abuse we seen in these links, and to be honest, I see every day on social media?

I think I am not the only one who would be very happy to join in if it helps those females* who are same sex attracted.

  • (And by female, I mean those with a body formed around the production of large gametes, regardless of whether they produce those large gametes or not, or ever have.) And isn't it great that in Lesbian visibility week I need to add this definition to my posts because the words lack meaning otherwise. Or though, the law has clear meaning such on the other thread.

So, maybe we will get an answer here. You, ASugarr are a vocal activist.

Please tell us exactly what actions have been taken this week to stop this abuse? Which groups did what? Which prominent activists came out and told others to stop this abuse in clear language?

And what are you doing that we can join you in if we agree it is going to make a difference to stopping the abuse shown in these links and the posts on p.12 of the thread linked below.

NothingTraLaLa · 01/05/2021 07:59

When you say “transgender women” do you mean transmen, i.e. women who identify as transgender, or transwomen, i.e. men who identify as transgender? I suspect you mean the latter but grammatically speaking your terminology is rather confusing.

HamsterV2 · 01/05/2021 08:00

It's mixed with pheremones allegedly and they use it to communicate when they're fighting or mating.

Lobsters are weird. They actually have 2 stomachs too. One on their head (which has teeth) that does the work of crushing the food and the second extends into the abdomen to aid digestion.

AlmostSummer21 · 01/05/2021 08:00

Well they certainly weren't 'visible' here. But maybe that's because I live in an area where show boating isn't necessary & people just get on with their lives.

Helleofabore · 01/05/2021 08:00

And I want to say thank you again to hamster for their post on that thread yesterday.

ShowOfHands · 01/05/2021 08:01

You've confused "reminder" with "opinion" again.

risefromyourgrave · 01/05/2021 08:01

Aren’t lobsters like vampires, immortal unless murdered? Or am I thinking of starfish?

ASugarr · 01/05/2021 08:02

What part is an opinion to you?

I think that's starfish. Their genes closely resemble humans too iirc

Doyoumind · 01/05/2021 08:03

ASugarr why not start some threads about the issues in your last paragraph then rather than being goady?

risefromyourgrave · 01/05/2021 08:04

I saw a starfish pull its own arm off when I was a child, I was traumatised.
