Baroness Jones - Men too have a 6pm curfew

Baroness Jones has been speaking in the House of Lords today and has called for a curfew to be put in place for men to be banned from going outside after 6pm to help women feel safer on the streets after dark.

The solution should be to prevent the behaviour, not tell women to avoid it as though it's inevitable.

The problem is that a certain amount of violence up to and including murder is inevitable. I do not think we are ever going to have a society with no violence and no murders. So to me it isn’t a question of preventing violence OR teaching potential victims to avoid violence, we really should be doing BOTH. As a parent you want your child to be safe, but you’d be remiss if you did not teach them basic safe guarding techniques and habits to lower their chances of becoming a victim.
