Yes. Amazing. A shame she's had to reveal so much of herself, but as always, her writing is brilliant.

SnuggyBuggy · 10/06/2020 17:23

I agree amazing and the abuse she has received on twitter is disgusting

Melroses · 10/06/2020 17:23

I have just got half way through that and come here to see if it was up.

I expect an equally researched and reasoned piece from Mr Radcliffe (and for him to have done it himself Hmm )

Just off to read it. Thanks for the link.

JellySlice · 10/06/2020 17:26

I'm not playing a violin for you, jK Rowling, not even a teeny tiny one. I'm playing the biggest, most beautiful, most awesome great CELLO for you. A concerto of life, joy and respect for an awesome, articulate woman.

Harry Potter did not make me cry. This did.

Thank you.

BothALarkAndAnOwl · 10/06/2020 17:27

Fabulous piece. Wonder how much grief I’ll get if I share it on FB?!

Michaelbaubles · 10/06/2020 17:27

That’s amazing. So well-argued, clear and passionate. I’m sure the flashing anime gifs she’ll receive in return will be equally well-crafted.

Michaelbaubles · 10/06/2020 17:28

Also, she must read MN.

BaronessSnippyPantsofCroneArmy · 10/06/2020 17:29

Just everything I ever wanted to articulate about this ideology.

This is the best thing she has ever written, and I say that as an admirer of her work. So powerful, such clarity, bloody hell it has made me cry. I need to read it again.

MrGHardy · 10/06/2020 17:30

This is absolutely brilliant! She addresses so eloquently so many topics people have been silenced for for so long.

Campervan69 · 10/06/2020 17:31

Amazing. In tears. Wonderful woman.

Enderthedragon · 10/06/2020 17:32

Yaaaaas! Im not ashamed to say I welled up reading that. The genie is out of the bottle. Thank you Jo!

I wonder how many of the Twitterati, who are incapable of reading anything more than 280 characters in one go, will even bother to read the whole thing?

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 10/06/2020 17:33

I'm categorically not crying.

Thisismytimetoshine · 10/06/2020 17:33

Amazingly intelligent woman. Thank Christ she's on our side...

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 10/06/2020 17:33

Thank you JK Rowling.

BatShite · 10/06/2020 17:34

What an amazing fucking woman.

ofwarren · 10/06/2020 17:34

Im just a lurker and have been for years but this has me in tears.
You are bloody amazing Joanne Flowers

WomaninBoots · 10/06/2020 17:35

Holy crap I am SO close to sharing this on Facebook and losing all my friends... SO close.

SkaraBrae · 10/06/2020 17:36

Great piece.

The part about her teenage years really resonated with me, as I think it would with many young girls.
Puberty is a difficult, confusing and isolating time for many teenagers.
I was miserable through most of it- I hated my body, had no sense of belonging to girls around me, or even my family.

Although sadly I am convinced that thousands of transactivists will beat her down for being insulting to their trans-ness.

What do they say about de-transitioners by the way?

Apileofballyhoo · 10/06/2020 17:36

I'm in tears also. Don't know if you believe in God JK, but may you be showered with all the blessings of the universe.

Michaelbaubles · 10/06/2020 17:37

Oh, destransitioners weren’t ever really trans, even though anyone is trans if they say they are.

PrimalLass · 10/06/2020 17:38

She is utterly wonderful.
