Please, please share on Facebook, please. We need to end this now

Collidascope · 10/06/2020 17:50

From the Independent
Among those to criticise Rowling include formerHarry PotterandFantastic Beastsstars Daniel Radcliffe and Eddie Redmayne.

So two incredibly privileged white men then.

Toocold · 10/06/2020 17:50

Thank you, I needed this today.

KettlePolly · 10/06/2020 17:51

I love her even more now - what a brave (and yes stunning) piece. It HAS to throw some light into the dark corners.

How fab to see the key issues - concern for harm done, a desire to explore and discuss the implications of legislation and medicalisation, expressed beautifully and with passion.

As a mother in particular - THANK YOU. Brava x

BigWholeBean · 10/06/2020 17:51

So beautifully and articulately written. Thank you JK

Oxyiz · 10/06/2020 17:52

Amazing, thorough, thoughtful, logical, calm.

I'm not looking at the backlash yet, I'm just going to enjoy the moment.

THANK YOU JO!!!

LouHotel · 10/06/2020 17:52

How do you share on facebook

TerfBangs · 10/06/2020 17:52

She is absolutely WONDERFUL. I really think this could inspire others to put their heads above the parapet. What a brilliant woman.

OvaHere · 10/06/2020 17:53

Wow. That's fantastic and so much from the heart.

I know she is very rich and successful but it's still very brave to put so much of herself out there considering how much of a private person she has been in the last couple of decades.

Thank you JK Flowers

TheBobbinIsWoundUp · 10/06/2020 17:53

That brought tears to my eyes.

And while I cannot share this or even mention it on social media without risking my job, I think she’s given me the courage to stop volunteering with La Leche League and (quietly, privately) use her writing to explain why.

AuntieRae · 10/06/2020 17:53

I had been feeling so despairing the last few days reading all the vile, negative comments on social media about JK's comments. I was heartened when a few well-known faces supported her but then backed down. Just been reading Eddie Redmayne's comments saying he disagrees with her, obviously from the same school of PR as Daniel Ratcliff. And now reading this has just totally turned my mood around. What a well thought through, well-argued and reasoned piece of writing.

MissLawls · 10/06/2020 17:54

What a wonderful piece of writing! And yes, like others here, it made me cry.

TheLurkingOne · 10/06/2020 17:54

Well said, JK.

BertiesLanding · 10/06/2020 17:54

I bloody love her right now.

littlbrowndog · 10/06/2020 17:54

Just hold your pointer on the nam3 at top of her website when you are in the article. Then you can copy and then paste on your Facebook

SaraLaraClara · 10/06/2020 17:55

I have so much respect for her. She is awesome, in the truest sense of the world. Just incredible.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 10/06/2020 17:55

Thank you JK your words have made me braver, I will put my head above the parapet, thank you.

MaleficentsCrow · 10/06/2020 17:56

Oh Jo. 💐 Thank you! Thank you, thank you.

Every nail just got hit on the head, with compassion and calmness, reality and empathy, but also logic.

As a marital rape and domestic violence victim who endured 18months of prolonged abuse, thank you for understanding I want and need my safe space.

funklochrepublik · 10/06/2020 17:56

Thank you, Queen Jo Star

DryHeave · 10/06/2020 17:56

LUMOS!!

BingBongSong · 10/06/2020 17:57

I love JK Rowling. Shared on FB and Twitter.

Having been told how hateful I am by friends and chastised at work for daring to voice concern for women and girls, anyone who tells me off for posting it will be told I don't care if they think I'm hateful.
