This is absolutely staggering.

The latest poll commissioned by Wings over Scotland on the subject of self-ID, finds that all demographics in their majority believe a woman is an adult human female.

Except young women.

"The 16-34 female demographic actually voted by a narrow six-point majority that a person’s sex has absolutely nothing to do with biology. Even the next-closest group (young men) was a staggering FORTY points adrift from that view (net -34), and middle-aged women were close behind them at a net -36. Among women over 55 the margin against self-ID was a crushing 62 points (over 4:1 against), with older men at a breathtaking 10:1."

What's it like to 'feel like a woman', then, biology and a life of socialisation aside?

I know a young transwoman quite well, and I'd love to ask why they 'feel like a woman', especially as all their hobbies are stereotypically male, and they act much more like a stereotypically geeky man than a woman. I can't ask, of course.

As I told my teenager Mums aren't prejudiced about trans people we just think that encouraging young people down a path of medication and mutilation and sterilisation is not a good idea. She got it. I suspect ignorance about the reality of what being trans really means has a lot to do with it.

Also missing the obvious logic of if there's no such thing as a woman anyway, how does anyone know that they feel like one? You can only feel like and identify as something that tangibly, definably exists. This is all smoke and mirrors and polite social lying for the sake of emotional needs.

Which is fine until it's driven to the point of being harmful to female humans. This all only works if you believe that female people are always inferior to and less valuable than male born people. And calling that feminist is like calling yourself vegan while chugging down steak.

Someone can think they identify with a stereotype of a certain 'gender' and go for it. All power to you. But what's inside does count. Mammary glands, ovaries, menstruation, fallopian tubes - that is actually what's inside.

Having lurked on trans subreddits I actually know the answer to this! "Feeling like a woman" is having "gender euphoria" which is in its in turn a euphemism for getting an erection when you put your knickers on.

Female and Male are biological states. Not an identity or feeling but an actual physical factual state of being.

So no, theres no accepting some males can identify as female anymore than I can identify as being brown eyed - I simply am not.

Trans activists aren't asking for "live and let live". They are demanding that other people recognize and accommodate their identity.

Sex is defined by gamete production. There are two gametes and two sexes.

Biology matters. Sexism and female oppression is because of our biology.

TW and TM might indentify into a third category and frankly power to them. I wish them health and happiness and a life free from prejudice.

It is not bigoted though to want to maintain the privacy and dignity of biological sexes though. It’s also not helpful to deny reality and it’s certainly not kind.
