Interestingly LRM and Jess Bradley used to move in the same circles as students, I knew both of them very vaguely. He was pretty pleased with himself back then too.

theflushedzebra · 12/02/2020 22:48

Jess Bradley huh? How interesting. That would be the Jess Bradley who (allegedly) had the exhibitionist website, and an (alleged) penchant for getting the old lady penis out at work, and at bus stops.

I'm going to be honest, I've been a labour voter all my life until the last GE, but I can just cannot vote for a party that has so many angry young beards who like to berate women for talking about their rights, and wanting to define themselves legally as adult human females.

I'm guessing Labour's response to that would be "fuck off we don't want your vote anyway" Ok then.

donquixotedelamancha · 12/02/2020 23:38

Just watched it. Selina was fab, really clear and precise.

Lloydd-Russel was an absolute arse.

BiarritzCrackers · 13/02/2020 00:53

Just re-watched it - I'd only had half an eye on it when it was live before; goodness, he was furious! His face contorting, and Selina so calm. It's a shame, as when I've seen him talk about Syria and the Kurdish/Turkish issues, he is extremely knowledgeable and has good and enlightening analysis, but he was just awful on this, saying things that were untrue, misleading, and no regard or care or understanding of the issues that impact on women.

nettie434 · 13/02/2020 01:00

Thanks for the link. I’ve just watched it. Selina was very measured and convincing. Worth looking at the way the Labour List editor Sienna Rogers was looking at LRM when he was speaking.

BovaryX · 13/02/2020 09:39

Thank you for the link nauticant Selina Todd is superb. This Labour guy, who continually talks over Selina Todd, is devoid of rational argument, incapable of refuting Selina Todd's points and is opposed to freedom of speech. What a dismal state Labour is in with clowns like him and RLB in the media

Thu 18-Oct-18 OP (I) wrote, 'Stephen Whittle influential TRA asserts 'We know we have Labour behind this one, so will simply do our best to get them elected' & Corbyn seems to confirm this at Pink News'

(extract)
"Yesterday on a thread condemning Stephen Whittle's use of predicted suicide, he joined and commented confidently:

In the end we will pull ourselves together and continue the campaigning – as we have always done. We know we have Labour behind this one, so will simply do our best to get them elected. As I tell the community “we have always lost more battles than we have won, but we only ever need to win the big one”.

I hope that clarifies matters.

Last night at Pink News party, Jeremy Corbyn apparently confirmed Whittle's belief:

Did The NUS, Proud Trust or Action for Trans Health ever report back on the various misconduct/Safeguarding investigations following allegations against Jess Bradley?

From the first page of the thread below Im reminded that Jess Bradley's friend Eden Ladley one of the founder signatories of the Labour 'trans rights pledge' took over as NUS Trans Officer.

I wanted to shout - XXY is Kleinfelter syndrome and the people who have it are still men! Men with a difference in sexual development, but still men!

I shouted this at the screen.

Its incredibly disrespectful for an MP to use a specifically male DSD this way just as so many TRAs do.

OP ClareCAIS wrote Mon 10-Feb-20
"As an intersex woman I have become acutely aware of how my complex history is being used to promote beliefs in gender identities being more important than sex and this frequently results in the needs of people born with differences in their sex development being lost - & we have far too frequently become the collateral damage in the gender wars

If people do want accurate information regarding the complex issues that many of us face, Mumsnet is promoting dsdfamilies as their guest campaign this week
www.mumsnet.com/campaigns/guest-campaigns-february-2020 and have been answering questions on Twitter

Hope it is OK to post here & happy to answer any questions

And he got away with that, on air. That bit of appalling nastiness and misinformation, that bit of certainly NOT inclusive or compassionate or respectful of others, slid by without being exposed.

This is what we have to keep putting in the public eye. Not letting them do and say these bloody awful lies and smears in their agenda and the general public not realising the truth.
