@selina_todd
will be on Politics Live, BBC2, this morning shortly after 11am, talking about
@Labour_Trans
' demands and the #ExpelMe hashtag.

OP posts:
TheRealMcKenna · 12/02/2020 14:30

I wish people would stop using intersex as an ‘explanation’ for why people are ‘biologically’ the other sex if they are trans.

It’s like explaining away and not dealing with rising rates of morbid obesity on the existence of Prada-Willi syndrome.

Michelleoftheresistance · 12/02/2020 14:32

Though there is always the danger that people might think you identify as a Hobnob.

That actually seems like a really nice idea..... Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/02/2020 14:44

Beardy twat is just a more hirsute, thinner version of Harrop, isn't he?

ArranUpsideDown · 12/02/2020 14:49

people might think you identify as a Hobnob

It always comes back to Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit on MN whether it's here or on webchats. (Better that than Weetabix and banana tho'.)

I hope the presence of Selina Todd does signal a willingness to book more women to discuss the issues around dissent and free speech in the public arena.

FreakOutFarOut · 12/02/2020 15:03

Finally created an account and de-lurking because I'm honestly just in a constant rage these days at this insidious and harmful campaign against women and sense. Very inspired by all of you articulate and passionate women. Hi!

Selina was so clear as well as calm in the face of his sputtering misogyny. I really do think these issues are starting to see the light and idiots like him are only doing us favours.

Redshoeblueshoe · 12/02/2020 15:05

Bore you are spot on there
I don't suppose you could recommend a nice clip of Harrop ?

ILikeSneezing · 12/02/2020 15:08

Well done, Selina.
Beardy is a parody of himself.

AbsintheFriends · 12/02/2020 15:09

Gosh, I'm watching now. Beardy Man is tying himself in knots isn't he? It's almost like there's a giant hole of logic that he's trying not to fall down.

(You can't identify as one gender one day, and another the next... Is that not terribly transphobic and erasing genderfluid enbies?)

Hello FreakOut. Grab a chair and help yourself to a cuppa.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/02/2020 15:15

Anything to oblige, Red Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/02/2020 15:16

See? All that's missing is the beard!

Redshoeblueshoe · 12/02/2020 15:38

Grin Absolutely Wine

TheRealMcKenna · 12/02/2020 15:41

Is that the beardy who was filmed doing a chicken impression in the HoC last week?

ClosdesMouches · 12/02/2020 15:52

Thanks for that, Bore.

Always excellent viewing but as I say every time it's posted here, Harrop's facial expression when PP states that she believes that TW are not women is priceless.

ClosdesMouches · 12/02/2020 15:54

Yes, same beardy, McKenna. IIRC Dawn Butler was present.

TheRealMcKenna · 12/02/2020 16:02

Thanks ClosdesMouches. I thought his name was familiar.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 12/02/2020 16:04

Beardy MP really came across as simmering with anger. Did not leave a good impression on me at all - just the type to be gleeful at a witch hunt in the 16th century. Vengeance disguised by a ‘rightful cause’.

Mockersisrightasusual · 12/02/2020 16:11

You mean like this?

Sexnotgender · 12/02/2020 16:13

Posted this elsewhere but feels relevant here too.

CharlieParley · 12/02/2020 16:21

Thank you Sexnotgender, what a diverting piece of research. From your link:

After controlling for demographic variables, men with facial hair were significantly higher in hostile sexism than clean-shaven men; hostile sexism was a significant predictor of facial hair status over and above demographic variables; and facial hair was more frequent among ambivalent and hostile sexists than among benevolent and non-sexists. It is suggested that sexist men choose to grow facial hair because it maximizes sexual dimorphism and augments perceived masculinity and dominance."

boldlygoingsomewhere · 12/02/2020 16:38

Mockers Grin

BringbackLang · 12/02/2020 16:40

I've Just watched it. What an insufferable boorish tool. He comes across extremely badly. I'm so glad I left the Labour Party now.

littlbrowndog · 12/02/2020 17:00

Harrop. Ta bore I love when harrop gets. All splutterly that a woman dared to say no to him

How dare she

GCAcademic · 12/02/2020 17:01

Well, I ended up taking the dog out for a walk, despite the fact that I have a painful sprained ankle as I felt so guilty for scaring him by shouting at beady cunt. I think we are both feeling a bit calmer now. At no point were we as worked up as that red-faced, bulge-eyed loon, though. I can't imagine how Selina stayed so majestically calm.

2Rebecca · 12/02/2020 17:02

The Prader Willi/ obesity comparison is a good one. I do worry that if we leave all the political parties they'll all be ran by awful TRA influenced men

wellbehavedwomen · 12/02/2020 17:25

You know, I can't imagine why the TRAs were so keen to have all the changes silently implemented without public knowledge, far less debate, and why they went to such extremes to try to ensure that silencing. It's bewildering. This is going so well for them!
