Trans women in womens toilet

I was out with friends tonight for a friends birthday. While in the queue for the toilet in the womens bathroom a transwomen came in. She was chatting to people in the queue and the lady in front of me asked if she were a man or a woman as she wasnt comfortable with a male being in the female toilets.

With that all hell all hell broke loose, the transwomen became very aggressive shouting and pointing in the womens face. A lot of women in the queue also turned on the woman, saying how dare she ask that etc. The woman ended up locking herself in the toilet as she felt intimidated.

Eventually the bouncers were called and they came in to the toilet and dragged the woman who asked the question out forcefully by the arm. Should this be happening? All a women did was question if it was a male or female that was using a female space, maybe she could have worded it less bluntly but surely the sentiment is still the same.

So, what DO I say to a TW in my toilet if I want to enjoy my EA 2010 exemptions to a single sex space where I can remove my clothing and attend to my bodily needs without any male people in ear shot?

am I transphobic because I feel uncomfortable with males near me when I am in a state of undress, and my knickers round my ankles so I can’t run, and dealing with a number of female functions which I do not wish to perform with a male audience?

Seriously? My desire for privacy makes me hateful?

Why?

Definitely provisions like gender neutral toilets are needed. What would have happened if the Transwoman had said "Im a woman" instead of shouting abuse? Perhaps a pantomime of "oh no you're not", "oh yes I am!"

Agree, we need uni sex toilets, separate toilets for people with penises and separate toilets for people with vaginas as well as disabled toilets. Toilets have fuck all to do with gender Hmm and ONLY with sex.

@LadyOfTheSith if any of them are in danger in the male toilets where they belong, that is because of male violence.
Women are not shields to protect men from other men. Should we also invite elderly men, gay men, weak men into our safe spaces? NO. All those born male do not belong in female spaces.
Teach men to treat all other males with respect.

The point is that Women's Health that is women magazine consider transgender women as women not as a men/male

Oh well if womens Health say it it must be true 🙄🙄

the queen, the Archbishop of Canterbury and the prime minister could all think men are women but it still wouldn’t make them right

changing sex is impossible. All that anyone can do is present as a facsimile of the opposite sex

I am glad that some brave women have the confidence to challenge transwomen in such situations. The challenger was absolutely within her rights to do so.

Assuming you’re saying ‘a women’s magazine considers twaw so it must be true..’ then no; male and female is a scientific fact.
The tabloids and Heat magazine if that even still exists consider that the royal family is important and fascinating. I don’t agree with them either.
