There's lots of clever, knowledgeable women on here. Perhaps we could have a space for gathering research, ideas and policy proposals?

Well, there's the Women's Equality Party, don't forget.

...oh, hang on.

Newuser123123 · 15/11/2019 12:09

😂😭

stillathing · 15/11/2019 12:16

Great idea.
And a feminist socialist party.

artisanparsnips · 15/11/2019 12:23

Yes. I'm in.

Newuser123123 · 15/11/2019 13:37

@stillathing yes good idea, the communists are GC and the Tories are making promising noises so we need a party to capture the centre left GCs

RoyalCorgi · 15/11/2019 14:11

Fab idea. Count me in!

No idea how you get funding for this kind of thing, though.

Newuser123123 · 15/11/2019 14:23

Well for a start we can just gather some ideas here. Surely it can't be that difficult to come up with socially responsible policies whilst protecting women's rights?

Count me in too. Would be happy to give an annual sub.

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 15/11/2019 14:35

Count me in.

Hoppinggreen · 15/11/2019 14:39

I would say count me in too but it doesn’t sound like anyone not left wing is welcome - mind you, given the shit choice I’m facing in this election I’m not sure where I am politically any more

Newuser123123 · 15/11/2019 14:43

Let's start with what unites us then. All women welcome. All ideas for positive women's policies welcome

Perhaps a definition of "woman" is a very good place to start?

Newuser123123 · 15/11/2019 15:16

Adult human female?

OP posts:
artisanparsnips · 15/11/2019 15:24

I also really like the woman's place slogan:

Nothing about us without us.

babynewt · 15/11/2019 15:27

artisanparsnips

excellent and echoes the NHS policy no decision about me without me.
might strike a cord that organisations need to stay representative of those they serve.

I'm in.

SciFiScream · 15/11/2019 15:29

Yes please.

Newuser123123 · 15/11/2019 15:30

OK great, this is something I've written before and I would welcome debate...

I strongly believe that a person's choice of clothes, partner, spouse, career, hobby should not be dictated or limited by their sex. I raise my children with this message.

OP posts:
CeridwenTheWitch · 15/11/2019 15:34

Good idea.

Hoppinggreen · 15/11/2019 15:37

Ok, I’m in

Inebriati · 15/11/2019 15:38

Our polling cards arrived and sparked a family discussion. We are pretty much agreed on the broad strokes;

We want a society where social care is socialized - healthcare, social housing, utilities, care homes.
Where civil rights are protected, pretty much as per The Equality Act.
Where you can own and run a business within reasonable constraints ie you can't tip toxic waste into the environment or screw your staff or customers over.
And we are mostly agreed that a civil wage should replace benefits, with higher rates for people who cannot work.

This basic framework should provide an acceptable minimum standard of living for the majority. Its not to the extreme of either left or right and should appeal to the majority. It should also promote tolerance, while supporting the idea that your rights end where mine begin.

We cant agree on pornography or prostitution. I am anti porn because I've seen the changes its created when its become freely available and tolerated. I support the Nordic Model combined with the citizens wage.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 15/11/2019 15:55

I'm in. As for pornography and prostitution, why? 🤷

Bezalelle · 15/11/2019 15:57
