Shall we start a feminist think tank?

There's lots of clever, knowledgeable women on here. Perhaps we could have a space for gathering research, ideas and policy proposals?

I don't work in academia, however I'm conscious that there are many times we've seen research being rejected or shutdown. Is this a space a feminist think tank could try to fill?

There are so many things I'd love to know the stats on or areas that need more study and research. I'm sure there's a v long list, but I'd love to know a more verifiable figure of the number of trans women who haven't had surgery and/or drugs, what is behind the huge rise in girls referring to gender clinics, what are the accurate suicide risk groups in children and adults? (I'm conscious these are all self ID related however these are often the subjects where research is being shutdown). I often read something and someone comments that we don't know the detail or it is something that needs more research - these are just off the top of my head.

I know there are tonnes of other things that could be studied in what is a fast changing environment for women. Could this think tank spot gaps, do new research or bring together existing research into digestible formats for the general public/media?

But aside from this what can we do?

Could we add one for language or women (what it means) in law?

The Detransitioner Advocacy Network is a good one too

It's actually reassuring how many orgs there are who are focused on all the relevant areas .

(I also like Nordic Model Now and Object Now for Prostitution and Surrogacy.)

@OhHolyJesus I'm not expecting anything from anyone until after Christmas (myself included 😂😭) we can make this a new year's resolution!

Our initial activities will be letter writing and consultation responses. I'd like to do something in support of Maya and the Scottish GRA reforms.
