prideinlondon.org/news/2019/3/31/a-pride-without-hate

'Susie Green, CEO of Mermaids said: To back out of Pride in London when they are showing that they are addressing these issues only bows to hate. Mermaids is working with our partners and Pride in London. We will only take part if we are satisfied that concerns have been addressed and that security and safety, especially of vulnerable people, particularly children, is paramount. Pride in London have apologised for the mistakes made last year, and the distress caused. They are committed to standing up to intimidation and oppression. So are Mermaids, alongside our partners Stonewall, UK Black Pride and We Level Up”. '

The devastation wreaked by those 8 lesbians! Central London is still a wasteland...

Why does SG get to dictate conditions in this way?

Amazing how much power a few lesbians suddenly have whilst protesting the co-opting of lesbianism. Hmm

If anyone feels unsafe in the current climate it's lesbians due to the extreme hostility shown to them for asserting their boundaries.

Melroses · 04/04/2019 13:18

Or free sweeties for 'transkids' festival?

Melroses · 04/04/2019 13:22

I thought, when it was Gay Pride, it was about gay people getting together to celebrate and meet other gay people.

Now it seems to be a cross between Commercial Disney and the modern equivalent of the Whit Walks for the church of the post modern queer theorists.

Part of their statement:' In everything we do we are working to ensure the Trans community are front and centre.'

Yes the T is everything and the L is nothing!

Dont know how these people cope with life in general if a few women with banners have traumatised them all so much

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 04/04/2019 13:26

I'm not a lesbian, but, I don't know how the lesbian community can STAND it!

The cotton ceiling thing is just disgusting. I have all the time in th world for Get the L Out. They are right.

Apollo440 · 04/04/2019 13:27

Classic DARVO. The TRAs are responsible for all the intimidation. Just rename it Trans Pride and be done with it. Stop corrupting the word 'inclusive'.

FloralBunting · 04/04/2019 13:27

I'm sure #PutTheTFirst was a thing somewhere. Then there's that 'Trans takeover' thing from Pride with no awareness of the irony whatsoever.

The time of the quiet secret squirrels working behind the scenes to undermine the rights of others is passing. It's all quite openly supremacist now.

MoltenLasagne · 04/04/2019 13:44

So lying down is a form of intimidation now is it? Or is it the 'existing whilst lesbian' that's intimidation? I mean, we know for certain lying down and sitting eating pizza is counted as threatening, I presume a lesbian waiting for a bus is terrifying, goodness knows how frightening it must be if lesbians actually try to speak.

Lesbian + chair = ARMAGEDDON!!!!

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 04/04/2019 14:01

Louise Moody from Twitter is suggesting we march. I for one am definitely up for it

NoCisAllWoman · 04/04/2019 14:05

Fuck. My 16 yr old lesbian DD has said she is going to Pride this year... I know she's already drunk the kool-aid, and there's little I can do to persuade her otherwise Sad

Trousering · 04/04/2019 14:15

The whole tone of that piece is grovelling appeasement. They must have been on the receiving end of a non stop tantrum ever since, going by the recording one aggrieved person posted recently.

It's quite embarrassing how prostrate they are.

I don't think many lesbians of the female variety go to Pride anymore anyway do they?

I always thought it had been taken over by males in fetish wear TBH

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 04/04/2019 14:40

If lesbians on chairs are so terrifying the police are called, lesbians laying on the ground must be like the fucking trans apocalypse.

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 04/04/2019 14:40

Blimey, hadn't actually read the statement before - just skipped over from Twitter feeling cross.

Have read it now - it's extraordinary. Why/ how do the 'T' have so much power? ( and why do they inspire so much fear??)

How can they front and centre 'T' when it's supposed to be about the G, L and B too?

MoltenLasagne · 04/04/2019 15:07

Christopher Joell-Deshields, Director of Community Engagement for Pride in London added, “We must maintain a Pride that works for the full spectrum of the LGBT+ community. 50 years since the Stonewall uprising we must remember who started our movement and mark their importance. We must also ensure that as a community we stay united in the face of hate both internally and externally”.

Pretty sure that lesbians started the Stonewall movement, were critical in looking after gay men during the years of the Aids crisis and are the ones being kicked out of the LGBT movement now.

Where's the solidarity and unity for lesbians, eh?

FloralBunting · 04/04/2019 15:12

"We must maintain a Pride that works for the full spectrum of the LGBT+ community. 50 years since the Stonewall uprising we must remember who started our movement and mark their importance. We must also ensure that as a community we stay united in the face of hate both internally and externally”.

This is really cultic language. Proper Under His Eye stuff when you realize they are talking about the T, not the 'full spectrum' at all. I half expect to see stage directions indicating an obeisance and salute is to follow this being read out in a public meeting.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 04/04/2019 15:12

So basically pride without lesbians then.

It has been the case for a while that among the woke you're only allowed to call yourself a lesbian if you're male. Women calling themselves lesbians are automatically labelled t*s. (Get the matches and the barbed wire of love and intersectionality etc.)

FUBAR. And this, on top of the massive amount of straight people who view Pride as a rainbow festival day out, is why neither I nor any other lesbian I know would go near it these days.

We'll be having a lovely cream tea at St James's Piccadilly.
