prideinlondon.org/news/2019/3/31/a-pride-without-hate

'Susie Green, CEO of Mermaids said: To back out of Pride in London when they are showing that they are addressing these issues only bows to hate. Mermaids is working with our partners and Pride in London. We will only take part if we are satisfied that concerns have been addressed and that security and safety, especially of vulnerable people, particularly children, is paramount. Pride in London have apologised for the mistakes made last year, and the distress caused. They are committed to standing up to intimidation and oppression. So are Mermaids, alongside our partners Stonewall, UK Black Pride and We Level Up”. '

The devastation wreaked by those 8 lesbians! Central London is still a wasteland...

Why does SG get to dictate conditions in this way?

Here's the video. twitter.com/giuliana_london/status/1099414408386760705?s=19

Popchyk · 04/04/2019 16:25

Yeah, Giuliana has been hounding Pride in London for a while.

They are just not doing enough for transgender people apparently. So Giuliana is going after those organisers who are female.

What Pride in London needs to understand is that the more you bow down to these people, the more they will come after you. "Allies" are slowly realising that now; it isn't just gender critical women that they're coming after. It is you too. It isn't enough to tick the box and wax lyrical about inclusion. You have to give up everything and hope that the cult throws you a few crumbs.

Susie Green might allow you to participate in your own parade, but you have to prove that you are worthy enough first by chanting the mantras and denouncing the heretics. No doubt there will be announcements during the parade to ensure that people centre the trans at all times, just in cases any LGBs forget themselves.

Next year they won't allow Pride to have any gay people AT ALL in the parade, apart from those doing the actual work behind the scenes.

RedDogsBeg · 04/04/2019 16:31

Dearie me, that's a pretty epic tantrum by Giuliana. Shows in forensic detail though how NO-ONE is to be allowed to deviate from the ideology, truly totalitarian.

nettie434 · 04/04/2019 17:07

I found that very uncomfortable viewing. It felt very intimidating. I thought the Pride in London apology was very abject but apparently it is not enough

Trousering · 04/04/2019 17:14

There's a lot of hate coming from Giuliana.

zanahoria · 04/04/2019 17:14

I remember going when it was a huge demonstration for Gay rights. Its a very corporate and controlled event now, people are encouraged to attend with their employers or community groups, individuals can only attend if they apply in advance for a ticket and bring ID

"This year we are once again enabling people who are not affiliated to a charity, community group or able to walk with their employer, to join in the Pride in London Parade. This group will have their own space in the parade line up and will be walking in the main part of the parade.

Please provide your name for your ticket, ID will be requested on the day and checked against each ticket. "

The T has taken over everything. There are TransPride events - but no, Pride has to be all about the T too. It used to be Gay Pride, but that's not allowed now, they dropped the Gay. No room at all for the L anymore - cotton ceiling, lady penises, vagina fetishists, male lesbians... I also don't know how lesbians can stand this.

Actually I think that last one (male lesbian) has been dropped now - because of course now they are women because they say they are. But the term 'male lesbian' was one of the things that peak-transed me about 5yrs ago.

zanahoria · 04/04/2019 17:25

It used to be "Lesbian and Gay Pride"

ToeToToe · 04/04/2019 17:36

Happy to be corrected - so now there is just Pride and Trans Pride.

No Lesbian and Gay mentioned at all.

Mumminmum · 04/04/2019 18:42

So all LGBT are equal but Ts are more equal than the others? Nice. Not creepy at all.

FermatsTheorem · 04/04/2019 19:09

So, have I got this right? The new strapline is

A pride without hate lesbians

ChattyLion · 04/04/2019 19:16

Massive respect for them. Get the L Out Flowers Gin Glitterball

"Pride is a protest, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise"

Except of course when you are a lesbian, in which case you can get to fuck

PencilsInSpace · 04/04/2019 20:19

Just watched all the videos on the linked twitter thread.

Holy fuck! Shock

I would laugh at the OTT extremism (it reads like a parody) but pride have already acceded to some of this person's demands. They've centred trans in this year's march and they've ramped up security to keep lesbians out.

I have to say though, this person's vexatious complaints are a lot better written than some of the turgid arse-gravy we've been subjected to over the past couple of days.

Erythronium · 04/04/2019 20:35

So Pride with Lesbian erasure and misogyny then. Not hate though, of course not.

Maybe lesbians could take their chairs along and sit at the side of the march. Literally sit out Pride. It's not as if they're welcome any more.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 04/04/2019 20:59

Literally sit out Pride. It's not as if they're welcome any more.

Hate is perfectly ok, just so long as it's the in crowd hating on the right people.

As a society we've learned absolutely bugger all since VE day/Colonialism/ slavery etc - all of which were about the incrowd justifying hating on the right people. (Which was perfectly ok. In fact pretty much compulsory.)

MhairiV · 04/04/2019 21:16

Now we've been bravely stunned by the revelation that many of us are actually genderfree/genderqueer (what a day that was) maybe we should be applying to go. 🤔

Nightwitch · 04/04/2019 22:27

Hmm. Maybe me and my (very obviously male) dp could be a lesbian couple for the day. He does have long hair. And a beard. What if there were lots of couples like us?
We could wear shirts like these.

He looks a bit like this (not actual dp)

Morning, folks. Just popping in with a reminder to post by our talk guidelines. Discussing these sorts of issues is of course fine, but please do keep posts civil. We've deleted a few posts here that didn't feel completely in the spirit of polite debate and we'd really like to get the thread back on track now. Thank you.

Popchyk · 05/04/2019 12:40

Eh?

The thread was only ever about the Pride in London stuff. And how same-sex attracted lesbians are not welcome there.

It didn't go off track at all.

CadburysTastesVileNow · 05/04/2019 12:45

LGBT = Let's Grovel Before Transpeople?

Popchyk · 05/04/2019 12:48

Oh, I see. All references to Mermaids must be deleted.

Even though the actual thread is about how Mermaids are dictating conditions to Pride in London. Which is what the OP was about.

prideinlondon.org/news/2019/3/31/a-pride-without-hate

But Mermaids cannot be mentioned apparently.

LauraMipsum · 05/04/2019 12:52

Nightwitch there are already lots of couples who look like that on Pride. Bisexuals are a real thing...

severnbore · 05/04/2019 12:57

My question in the OP was 'Why does SG get to dictate conditions in this way?'

Don't understand how referring to her and her organisation are 'off track'.
