TalkingintheDark · 15/03/2019 13:37

Fazackerly I know the exact tone you mean without even listening

🤮

TulipsTulipsTulips · 15/03/2019 13:39

I wish they would talk about empowering chikdren to feel they don’t have to conform to gender stereotypes without feeling the need to change gender.

SpeckleDust · 15/03/2019 13:39

“She didn’t look good in a tutu” FFS Angry

Ullupullu · 15/03/2019 13:39

If this trend had been around when I was younger, I'm sure I would have been "trans" (m to f). Why wouldn't little girls want to be boys in this awful patriarchal society?

WeRiseUp · 15/03/2019 13:40

I sniff bullshit in these texts/emails read out.

R0wantrees · 15/03/2019 13:40

The absolute reverence in JVs voice!

This has been the case for some time.
Jeremy Vine is invested.

TulipsTulipsTulips · 15/03/2019 13:41

The other interviewer is good.

TulipsTulipsTulips · 15/03/2019 13:41

Andy West

joggerbottom · 15/03/2019 13:41

RND tonight so probably doing a bit of groundwork for certain charities.

VforVienetta · 15/03/2019 13:42

That was hardly a balanced debate.

Ullupullu · 15/03/2019 13:42

Slight sense there at the end by Andy West the correspondent. Not forthright enough but clearly putting forward the perspective that boys/girls can both buck gender norms and still be their sex.

Ullupullu · 15/03/2019 13:44

Oh I wrote (m to f) above where I meant (f to m). (Or f to trans?)

Beansandcoffee · 15/03/2019 13:44

Frightening. My teens get called skinny at school. Not saying this is right but kids get picked on for anything. So she saying she gets bullied because is trans is what I would expect from kids. Let’s ignore the 95% of kids that get picked on and let’s focus on that 5% instead. So sad. I never played with Barbie (Sindy) as a child in the late 60s we just didn’t have these gender conforming roles then.

WeRiseUp · 15/03/2019 13:45

Helen Webberly was shocked and disappointed that the Panorama hadn't been all well-versed kids of munschausens parents.

There's obviously been some re-grouping of her/Mermaids/Trans Media Watch and this is the backlash.

Popchyk · 15/03/2019 13:48

Did the father of this child get to speak?

Thingybob · 15/03/2019 13:50

Feel sorry for the Mum?

The interview did not reveal at what age the child first said they were a girl in a boys body but it was inferred that it was very young as they felt 'wrong' at 3 and the child cannot remember ever telling thier mother that they were a girl. They have since been told that they supposedly asked thier Mum one day if there was an 'operation' to turn them into a girl. Yeah right, too young to remember saying anything but old enough to understand what an operation is

WeRiseUp · 15/03/2019 13:51

Yes at the beginning. Didn't get it at first and regrets not being able to go to church, but is a bit dim and now goes along with it and joined mum in letting their spoilt kid dictate how they parent.

WeRiseUp · 15/03/2019 13:52

Yeah right, too young to remember saying anything but old enough to understand what an operation is

Yes. Totally implanted false memory.

SleepingSloth · 15/03/2019 13:55

And note that there are never any children featured who think gender ideology is nonsense.

Because most kids, teenagers don't think of it as gender ideology or nonsense. I suppose it's their world in the future, not ours and if they are accepting of trans people, it's their choice.

EweSurname · 15/03/2019 13:56

This is a really good interview with Ben, a detransitioner (GNC Centric on twitter), and Benjamin Boyce, talking about the cult-like aspects and indoctrination of trans ideology.

Ereshkigal · 15/03/2019 13:56

Because most kids, teenagers don't think of it as gender ideology or nonsense.

Not what I've heard. I think that's a bit of a sweeping generalisation.

Popchyk · 15/03/2019 13:56

"Didn't get it at first and regrets not being able to go to church"

Is the mum religious?

ColdFingered · 15/03/2019 13:59

There's such positive affirmation for these children. They are described as being unhappy at school, then they are trans, and are told they are so brave and special.

More mention of bravery here, although the journalist did raise questions, unlike JV.

Lordamighty · 15/03/2019 14:01

I didn’t get to hear it all but was disappointed at the way the professor’s evidence based studies that show that 80% of children with gender dysphoria will get over it after puberty was glossed over. It’s outrageous. Jeremy Vine has always been an idiotic interviewer but he excelled himself today by letting that one go by.

Ullupullu · 15/03/2019 14:01

The church comment was from the Dad - he was Catholic and felt he would be ostracized for having a trans kid.
