This popped up on my face book.

It is not going to solve all our problems but encouraging men to challenge other men’s behaviour is a good start.

This made me ugly cry. I've been sexually harassed at work and it's destroyed my mental health. When I tried to report it the first 2 times I was met with the attitude of "Boys will be boys" and "it's just banter." Men need to do better.

Its quite often asked 'i am just one person...what can i do about toxic masculinity'

Ah look, another surge of young male suicides that will be blamed on toxic masculinity.

Seriously, anyone who promotes the concept has no interest in the wellbeing of men and boys.

Actually the only thing i winced at was the dad taking his little one over to a big group of bullies, I understand the idea behind it but gangs have been know to turn on the rescuer

Thank you. My therapist has said when I'm strong enough maybe I could use my experience to help change the environment in my workplace but to be honest I just want to get out of there. My experience was 2 years ago, the guy still works there and incidents involving other men are still happening. When reported, people are still met with the attitude of boys will be boys. Makes me wonder why I bothered to try and fight against in the first place. I think one of the worst things that could have happened to me was having my eyes opened to toxic masculinity because I was a lot happier when I was oblivious.

I like the fact that the advert starts with them tearing down their own previous adverts. Saying that the advert emasculates men is neatly making the point the advert is trying to make.

Name I’m sorry for what you have been through. It is as if the response or lack of from your employer is a secondary sexual harassment, essentially condoning the first. I hope you can find somewhere happy to work where you feel supported and that your career doesn’t suffer as a consequence.

Anyway let’s hope to see more things like this advert and that the tide is turning.

That's really powerful. And it's praising the good men, not saying all men are bad.

Wow! I know they only want to sell more razors but that’s quite a shift. I was waiting for a sting in the tail like the man shields a woman from harassment and then moves in on her himself but no, they did it well. And the fact that Piers hates it is even better!

Look at the upvotes and downvotes. This has really angered a group of men who have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are.
MRA's will claim they disapprove of the advert because it criticizes men's behaviour.

If they really gave so much as a shiny shit about the well being of other men or the suicide rate, they'd be doing something about it instead of just complaining.

The only reason mras hate it so much is because it stops the rapists and abusers and harassers from being men who hide in the shadows in dark alleyways, and this who like a but if " banter" and highlights that fact that actually an overwhelming number of men can it behave or be respectful. It shows it's any one of them. Not someone else.

Time all men were deported to an island somewhere out the way. Then set up a tinder style app to choose the ones to have weekends of free time for breeding purposes.

Not to sounds cynical, but Gilette have probably realised that women do the majority of the shopping, so anything that speaks to them will be a winner, regardless of whether their neanderthal husband is offended by it!

I imagine that once the MRA has clicked his down-vote he will forget all about it and not trouble himself to boycott Gilette over it, so even if he buys his own razor it probably won't affect sales much.
