FiLiA conference 2019 anyone going?

Has anyone been before? I'd not heard of FiLiA before but what I'm reading looks pretty promising!

Yes, that surrogacy talk. Horrific, truly horrific, what these birthmothers are put through. And I thought I had an idea what is going on...

The talks were great - if I may call them that, given the subject matter. Just wish I'd had the chance to find whoever came up to me wearing a "radicalized by Mumsnet" sticker!

Whoever you are, I'd have loved to chat, but decided to take an earlier train back home in light of all the delays and missed connection on the way down. And just as well I did. There was a train on fire somewhere which meant I missed my connection in Edinburgh. Had I taken that later train (also delayed), I'd have been stuck.

Destinysdaughter I couldn't get in to the Menopause Café as spaces were limited, so could you share a little of how that went, please?

In the menopause cafe, we discussed issues we'd had with our own menopause, different symptoms etc. It was very informal and relaxed, with no agenda. It is a charity and you can set up your own menopause cafe in your own area if you wish. It's run on the same principals as Death Cafes. I found it very supportive and it was good to know what other women were going through.
