(Apologies if the link isn't clicky, not done this before!)

Has anyone been before? I'd not heard of FiLiA before but what I'm reading looks pretty promising!

I'd love to meet some mumsnetters ifanyone is around for day two as I'm on my own. I'm in a red top, black dungaree dress with badges and leggings. Short hair and glasses. I'm autistic so not very good at the making friends thing ! 😁

CharlieParley · 20/10/2019 09:52

I'll look out for you Companion42. My hair is short and red, blue glasses, wearing a black top with a royal blue cardigan and a For Women Scotland badge. If you see me and feel brave enough, feel free to say hi.

I'll be there in about ten minutes.

Companion42 · 20/10/2019 10:52

Thanks Charlie I'll keep my eyes peeled

Lippysoutherner · 20/10/2019 11:09

Am also here. I'm the one with the hangover. Smile

getupgonow · 20/10/2019 11:27

Meeting lots of mumsnetters while wearing my T-shirt!

Lippysoutherner · 20/10/2019 12:49

Is that you, Radical?

Verily1 · 20/10/2019 15:56

There are a few hangovers in the room @Lippysoutherner

chilling19 · 20/10/2019 16:22

On way home from FILIA. Exhausted and inspired at the same time 😴

Rumplestaleskin · 20/10/2019 19:37

I’m an idiot. I didn’t check this thread all weekend and I was on my own. Still enjoyed it though. I found some of the talks quite hard going emotionally but really engaging. I think I’d go again.

Lippysoutherner · 20/10/2019 19:59

It was amazing

getupgonow · 20/10/2019 20:16

I couldn't remember my username but wore my T-shirt so hello to everyone I spoke to. Here's to Portsmouth 2020!

FannyCann · 20/10/2019 20:35

I've read updates and brilliant thread from Dr Em with envy - I'd have loved to have gone but the journey was way too long from where I am. But Portsmouth 2020?
Definitely doable and reading Em's thread I really want to go. Exciting news!

VinandVigour · 20/10/2019 22:37

Portsmouth is much better for me, hope to be there. I have put a heads up for December (when this thread suggests tickets are released) and the October dates in my calendar.

You do understand that it’s not the night out that’s encouraging me to go, right?

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 20/10/2019 22:43

Oooh pompey?

Interesting

truthisarevolutionaryact · 20/10/2019 22:52

Sounds inspiring!

Destinysdaughter · 20/10/2019 23:43

Was such a great weekend, I learned loads. I also went to a Menopause Cafe which was really helpful and has made me want to hold some in my local area!

HerFemaleness · 20/10/2019 23:47

I think I met a mumsnetters DP on the train home. He liked my t-shirt and we openly talked terf.

This is where I got my t-shirt from. The owner had a stall at Filia. She doesn't seem to have that one listed in her shop but maybe contact her to see if she stocks them. It might be an Etsy thing that she can't display it.

Weren't they just? Did you go to the Surrogacy one? I've always been aware that surrogacy was a bit shitty, but my god I really had no idea.

Destinysdaughter · 21/10/2019 00:03

I also went to the excellent talk about the Invention of the Transgender Child and was so heartened to hear from Charlie, the lesbian desister who has just started up an organisation for desisters. She said she's heard from hundreds of people ( mainly autistic young women) who felt the same as her. It felt very hopeful...

TinselAngel · 21/10/2019 00:26

I've had such a great weekend 💜💚

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 21/10/2019 01:07

I'm just back from one of the best weekends of my life. Tinsel you are a sassy and funny woman. Respect.

I met MN royalty ( the wisest and wittiest women I've met in years). Had the belliest of laughs. Made important connections with lovely and amazing women.

Thank you MN for bringing these delightful women into my life.

Oh MRA R J Firth was there trying to spoil things but watching him marched away by Liane the female security guard was a wonder to behold.

getupgonow · 21/10/2019 02:05

Liane was fab!

Rumplestaleskin · 21/10/2019 09:02

@HerFemaleness, no I didn’t attend the surrogacy talk, which, on reflection, I regret even though I imagine it would be hardcore. There were so many great options, scheduled at the same time, that it was difficult to choose sometimes. Some of the research discussed in respect of ‘Feminist perspectives of the sex trade’ was a real eye opener esp regarding male online discourse (eg punters rating prositutes online etc). I’ll be mentally digesting a lot of the talking points for weeks to come.

TinselAngel · 21/10/2019 10:48

My head is full of so much stuff, it's going to take a while to process. Great to meet you too @WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe Smile

HerFemaleness · 21/10/2019 11:10

Destinysdaughter. Do it.
