FiLiA conference 2019 anyone going?

Has anyone been before? I'd not heard of FiLiA before but what I'm reading looks pretty promising!

Still have unwanted ticket and non refundable hotel room.

Would contact Filia as suggested, but have not surfaced. If anyone wants both, I can forward booking refs, and leave for you to sort out. But would like it to be genuine MNetter. You would be welcome to give donation to something sensible.

So is there some sort of mumsnet meet-up for this? I’ve got my ticket but not managed to persuade anyone into going with me and feeling slightly nervous. Is anyone else going on their own? I can’t be the only one without lots of radfem friends.

I'm so excited about it - I am volunteering this year and there on Saturday. If anyone wants to say they are a FWR MNer then please do and I'll gladly chat to you!!

I'm a virgin Filia and getting really excited for a weekend with women. Can't remember what talks I signed up though.....

Weston I can't either. I just looked but I couldn't find a confirmation email so maybe I never signed up for anything, just browsed all the talks and couldn't decide! I can't remember for the life of me. But everything looks interesting so I don't suppose it will matter, I can go wherever there are spaces as not many things are showing sold out.

I'm also a first-time soloist. I hope that the people on here who assured me it was all ages were right and I'm not going to be the oldest feminist in town by 20 or more years.

Really looking forward to it. For those going solo - ask the person next to you if they are on their own. Then there will be two of you, then ask another, and another, and another. I will be doing this all weekend and hope that someone asks me. See you there 👍

I'm staying at Travelodge from Friday night, definitely up for a pre FiLiA Mumsnet meet! Does anyone fancy planning a time and place? I'll be ready for a wee lemonade at 8pm.

Also, my usual FILIA buddy isn't coming, so am looking for fellow FWR brethren! I'll wear purple velvet spider deeley boppers on Saturday morning (sorry, it's the most noticeable thing I can think of!) and will lurk around registration at 8.30am to be a visible meeting point if that helps?
