Transman kicked out of gay sauna

Seems a transman was asked to leave a male only sauna because he didn’t have a penis.

The sauna said they would have to approach the council to find out if their license would allow them to admit transmen.

I’d say Jason is in for a shock if they continue to use the sauna. Gay men can be incredibly bitchy. Now they’ve had their little moment in the spotlight and their little victory, I suspect that’ll be where the fun ends.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's "job done, no need to return" from this campaigner. They've scored their points:
any business can be brought into line with a cry of "transphobia"
trans people going into opposite sex spaces causes no problems if people do goodthink
transwomen should now be allowed in women's single-sex spaces having a similar level of intimacy because that will prove to be fine too.

This is a wedge tactic. It looks like a distorting mirror version of ManFriday in some ways.

I think the pro-trans gay men are doing the 'Step back, see which way the wind is blowing' before speaking. I don't think they even considered this would affect them ever, so this is going to be quite the stumper for some of them.

Needless to say, as I've been banging this drum for bloody ages, the trans movement is hideously homophobic and is getting properly emboldened in that stance.

Well there's certainly some allies on that gay chat site. They get it. Totally get it.

This is the exact argument feminists are making about women’s spaces.

I love lurking datounge, btw. A lot of the opinions are similar to ours but missing the trying-to-be-kind female socialisation we struggle with.

You have to steel yourself against the anti-female-body remarks, of course, which occasionally tip into abusive, but defining oneself by what you don’t want, when what you do want is against the grain of most of society, understandably escalates in pitch at times!

Plus, these posts are not made for the benefit of our eyes.

This is a reason anyone thinking of going down the trans route needs unbiased counselling (if there is such a thing, all counsellors are human and will have a view on this especially those working in trangender clinics) not just affirmation.
People need to think about who they view as their potential mates, realise that pool is much smaller if you are identifying as the opposite gender and look at the option of being gender non conforming but still identifying as their biological sex.
I would suspect a butch lesbian would have more potential mates than a transman looking for women.
There also needs to be more discussion of what practical difference being trans would make to their life rather than just being gender nonconforming.
I think young people are fed a load of overly optimistic sparkles and unicorns stuff about the trans lifestyle.

Their threads are modded, albeit less sensitively than ours - I think they remove personal attacks, repeat threads and known trolls.

Interesting about the pro-trans gay men being quiet about this.

So far being openly GC a lot of people avoid me/the topic - bar three people.

All three are gay men who went out of their way to chastise me (though opening with "I'm interested in why you see it this way" or "why are you interested in this?" passive-aggressiveness). I'd so love to be able to use this scenario to get back at the sanctimonious, woke misogynists.

@LikeDust my straight friend was the one who chastised me, asking how it affected me or why I cared and was a condescending twat about it (ironic considering he mocks every other minority and jokes about all manner of people). Even after telling him I have often wanted to go to such saunas, and he knows I'm gay, he kept trying to shut me up

I see Shon avoids entirely the issue of whether or not gay men should be called transphobes if they don't want to have sex with a transman, however.

We are not on our own. It is great to read such straight talking on a topic that clearly alarms and affects the majority of people.

Reading Data Lounge on Juno Dawson I half want to applaud, and half feel really really angry. Gay men are allowed to say these things: no one calls them TERF or threatens to rape or murder them. No one tries to get Data Lounge down because it's full of "hate speech". There couldn't be a more perfect illustration that a deep-rooted misogyny is absolutely at the heart of transactivism.

You know humans have all types of neurodiversity, we deal with it, however forcing us all to act as a placebo in this particular neuro challenge is not on.
