Isn't that great? Terry has got the fastest ever meet time for a girl! Poor Bridget is now third.

I wonder if Terry and Andraya will now get university scholarships based on their poor track performances when compared to their male peers?

The comments below the thread are encouraging, not one person supportive and most are outraged.
Might be specific to the one thread though Iykwim. There are probably other threads talking about this all in agreement about how stunning and brave and progressive it all is.

Personally I find it despicable.

KittyKlaws · 07/06/2018 11:50

The girls' faces at the end of the race say it all. They cannot protest, they cannot run a fair race, they can't get scholarships. I felt a deep sadness inside watching those girls. Congratulations to Bridget who I consider the real winner of the girls 100m dash.

FermatsTheorem · 07/06/2018 11:55

So true, Kitty - they just look so utterly dejected. Your comment "They cannot protest, they cannot run a fair race, they can't get scholarships" absolutely nails it.

How anyone can look at this charade and think it's fair escapes me.

hackmum · 07/06/2018 12:02

I agree with the comment that girls should refuse to compete under these conditions. Let the two boys race against each other. This is complete and utter madness.

LinoleumBlownapart · 07/06/2018 12:05

Why can't there be a a third category for transwomen? It just seems massively unfair that there are now boys winning at all sports and girls being sidelined. It's like we've gone back in time with the illusion of it being progress.

Opheliah · 07/06/2018 12:10

There's no point having a seperate trans category when said transwomen have taken absolutely no cross sex hormones (which i disagree with anyway, children should not be put on puberty blockers or hormones) and are basically indistinguishable from all other males.

They should compete against males. Men should accept feminine men.

FermatsTheorem · 07/06/2018 12:12

Or do what Jaiyah Saelua does www.shortlist.com/entertainment/sport/the-worlds-first-transgender-footballer/73823 and play men's football (to international level - though admittedly American Samoa don't tend to do that well) while being out and proud as a transwoman. That, I can admire.

GeordieTerf · 07/06/2018 12:13

It's not really the boys' fault though. I feel a lot of adults are pushing this onto kids.

nauticant · 07/06/2018 12:14

Good. We need more of this to respond to "that will never happen" narratives.

SweetheartNeckline · 07/06/2018 12:21

Those poor girls. Those trans id-ing boys have stolen their places from them. I don't blame the children; the rules are unfair.

NotMeOhNo · 07/06/2018 12:23

Absolutely shameful.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 07/06/2018 12:27

Presumably the boys are getting feted elsewhere and told how stunning and brave they are. Meanwhile, girls are being taught that if you're female you don't count.

SpareRibFem · 07/06/2018 12:29

This is going to kill women's sports 😡 It took women a long enough struggle to be able to get their own sports and now we've lost it 😢

SameTerfDifferentUserName · 07/06/2018 12:31

This is appalling! Def one for AIBU Angry

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 07/06/2018 12:37

This is shameful. And in the USA, where sports scholarships can decide whether you get to university, TIM have a strong motive to compete against girls.

UpstartCrow · 07/06/2018 12:38

Disgusting Angry

OvaHere · 07/06/2018 12:39

This is appalling and tragic for these girls hoping for scholarships, I understand supporting achievement is a big part of getting a college place in the US.

I could never support my sons cheating in such a misogynistic way.

SouthernComforts · 07/06/2018 12:42

What an absolute farce Angry

LangCleg · 07/06/2018 12:44

This is shameful. And in the USA, where sports scholarships can decide whether you get to university, TIM have a strong motive to compete against girls.

EXACTLY. The US system is set up so that sports provide access to higher education - this is an important plank of social mobility there. It's unconscionable to allow males to compete with females.

speakingwoman · 07/06/2018 12:52

not good.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 07/06/2018 13:10

This makes my blood boil!! I'm seething at these two cheats and the stupid, evil people allowing girls to be treated like this! The ONLY good thing is that it is this sort of ridiculous, insane stuff that will lead people to utterly reject the trans movement!

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 07/06/2018 13:11

Oh - and well done to Bridget the winner of the girls' race!!

SuitedandBooted · 07/06/2018 13:11

There will hopefully be more of this.
How can any fair-minded individual expect parents and their daughters to accept this? Particularly in the USA, where sports scholarships can be life-changing?
