Isn't that great? Terry has got the fastest ever meet time for a girl! Poor Bridget is now third.

I wonder if Terry and Andraya will now get university scholarships based on their poor track performances when compared to their male peers?

Of all the feminist issues to pick out of the whole of America why choose the one about trans women? I smell an ulterior motive.

therealposieparker · 07/06/2018 20:02

Women and girls need to boycott every event with males in.

LangCleg · 07/06/2018 20:02

If you're not outraged you're part of the problem.

And if you're actively trying to stop women opposing this, you're, well, I don't have the words, so I'll just stop typing.

Openly cheating at sport is like spitting in someone's face. There are many worse things that one person can do to another, but few that evoke such visceral disgust.

Melanippe · 07/06/2018 20:11

If you would like to discuss FGM daim, can I suggest the helpful "start a new thread" button at the top of the message board? It really is a wonderful way of starting a new thread so that a topic you wish to discuss can be discussed in order not to derail other threads.

However, I think you should know that a dear friend of mine is presently being piled on by "feminists" from all over the world because she could have simply identified out of having her clitoris chopped out with a rusty razor blade aged 8, and these "feminists" think that even talking about FGM is transphobic and a badge of TERFery.

Returning to the thread. The fact that these boys have cheated two young women out of Varsity places is sickening. Girls track is one of the few college sports scholarships available to young women.

OldmanOfTheWeb3 · 07/06/2018 20:12

Women and girls need to boycott every event with males in.

This is absolutely the fastest way you can change this. The site of a lone male running down a track in a near empty stadium will put a stop to this more quickly and more effectively than anything else you can do. Organize, show solidarity, end it. This is a forum filled with parents. Next to professional female athletes, nobody has more power to pull this off than you.

MIdgebabe · 07/06/2018 20:12

Other issues are also highlighted on this board...I learnt about American child brides earlier this week which astounded me.

I guess this one gets more traffic because there is more disaggrement as to its significance,. and because it is closely related to an issue that is highly topical in the uk at the moment, so we want to understand what the potential threats might be in this country

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 07/06/2018 20:13

My point is you can fight to keep the current exemptions in the Equality Act without trans bashing along the way.

Why is acknowledging that its wrong for male people to be competing in female races 'trans bashing' rather than caring about the rights of the females involved in this whole ridiculous thing?

Infact, anything thats caring about female people is 'anti-trans' 'trans hate' and so on.

The title of that Dailywire article says it all really:
'Boy Believes He's A Girl, Defeats Girls At Connecticut State Championships. Actual Girl Too Afraid To Say Anything About It.'

NonSuchFun · 07/06/2018 20:53

I have to wonder about those two boys - do they really think they have run the good race and won the prize they deserved, proud of their achievement? When DD was about 4 we entered the village fete childrens’ competition “Monster made of vegetable”. “We” being the operative word. I had the idea - a dragon, I bought the cucumber and pineapple, cut the spiky leaves off the pineapple and told her to stick them along the back of the cucumber, we picked crocosmia from the garden and she stuck that on the front for 🔥 flames under my direction. I was so proud of of the first prize! She came home and threw the rosette in the bin. Yes, a four year old gave me a lesson in cheating, the sense of achievement that can only come from one’s own efforts, independence and lots more, She knew damn well it wasn’t her prize. How the hell can these boys and their parents take pride in their “achievements”?

Baroquehavoc · 07/06/2018 21:03

If it were unusual to cheat at sport, drug testing wouldn't be a thing. Competitors cheat at every level of sport.

Lol, carry on telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.

siwel123 · 07/06/2018 21:25

This is quite honestly disgraceful and stupid.
How is it fair two guys get to race against females and possibly ruin the girls future?

DailyMailClickbait · 07/06/2018 21:28

I am so fucking sick of being told it's "trans bashing" to point out the rank injustice of allowing male-bodied persons to compete in sports against female-bodied persons.

Exactly how is that "bashing"?

Trans-people get upset when they are told that they can't trample over everyone else and that their expectations and entitlement is unfair. Cry me a fucking river.

If you're going to feel sorry for anyone, then feel sorry for the women who were robbed of their qualifying places by two men who shouldn't have been allowed to compete in that race.

Picassospaintbrush · 07/06/2018 21:31

Lol, carry on telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.

It does actually, I read US stuff, they read our stuff, why would we not feel better that this is a global push-back?

Of all the feminist issues to pick out of the whole of America why choose the one about trans women? I smell an ulterior motive.

You honestly can't see anything wrong with boys ruining girls' sport?

BiologyIsReal · 07/06/2018 21:33

Daimbars It is not OTT to be angry when confronted with injustice and unfairness. In fact, lack of outrage, would indicate a certain failure of empathy.

BatShite · 07/06/2018 21:39

They must have been lurking on Mumsnet.

Mumsnet is defiitely not the only place that will find males beating females in sport unfair. I actually think on this issue, men may be more outraged than women.

The boys parents in that article do not care at all about the girls who are cheated out of their places do they...

InfiniteSheldon · 07/06/2018 21:39

The safest thing in all that was the utter powerlessness of those girlsand their families. If they don't compete, if they refuse to race they are banned from the association. To run at State level is such an achievement the result of years of work and training rendered pointless by rank cheating.

RunningWild12 · 07/06/2018 21:41

usatodayhss.com/2018/connecticut-parents-ban-transgender-track-athletes/amp?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook&__twitter_impression=true

Looks like parents are organising in Connecticut. People know this is unfair. Biological differences matter in sport. Women and girls should have a right to compete against their peers. Boys and men cannot become girls or women.

snufflehuff · 07/06/2018 21:42

This dickhead in the comments 😡

Two boys take 1st and 2nd place in Connecticut girls' 100m sprint
daimbars · 07/06/2018 21:43

It's skewed priorities. Of course it's unfair. The gender pay gap in America is unfair. The American president being a misogynist bully who commits sexual assaults is unfair. If we are suddenly talking about feminist issues in America where is the outcry about rape culture, domestic violence, sexual assaults?

Why is anything involving trans women the first to be shared on FWR and provokes the most outrage? That seems very unfair to me.

noeffingidea · 07/06/2018 21:44

Picasso sorry, I see your point now.
