This was mentioned on a thread yesterday but is worth mentioning again. There is a documentary on Netflix about the rise of the Women's Movement in the US. It's called She's Beautiful When She's Angry.

A different era but so many parallels to what is happening today. Anyone who has access to Netflix please watch it.

It's very inspiring but it did make me realise that we probably can't fight this current battle unless we become very visible. This is going to mean facing the barrage of criticism (often from other women), rape and death threats, threats to employment etc... just as those women did.

It's a daunting prospect but it made me realise that arguing online ultimately won't be enough. Strangely after watching it I was left with the feeling that in the age of technology it's actually become harder to develop a real life grass roots movement.

On the other hand, the more that L Madigan tweets the less likely they are to be elected as an MP. Those tweets will come back to haunt h** and they won't be easily explained away.

So all that is just ok but you can't post a gif which already exists all over the internet. You know maybe it is time to abandon Twitter and leave it to these people. As OvaHere says this battle needs to be fought away from social media where the TRAs seem to hold a lot of the cards.

One benefit of continuing the fight on social media is that as TRAs get more power, they abuse it more. In the same way that they believe other people, ie women, shouldn't have boundaries, they don't seem to have any themselves in what they're willing to say and do.

There will come a point when their behaviour will be so far outside the norm that it will come to the attention of the non-special people, who will be appalled.
