My brother was blocked on twitter for a fairly innocuous tweet regarding a political organisation. The block lasted three days. It was seen by him as a punishment, a kangaroo court judgement.

He's now back on, but is aware that free speech is not free speech. He has said his wings have been clipped.

Sending positive thoughts to you DrRadfem. I don't always agree with your views, I might add, but I will defend your right to say them.

Some accounts are mining for information that can be used to vilify.

I don't know what to do. Perhaps set up meetups in various areas so we can talk. This feels like a witch hunt of centuries ago, I'm agog that it's happening now. Unfortunately the general populace is so unaware.

Have twitter deleted the account that suggested murdering a major female celebrity for liking a tweet yesterday?

I followed you on twitter, but deleted my account a few days ago when I googled my twitter name, and my real name came up Thought I'd hidden my identity well, but I hadn't. Horrible to have to be frightened of what a gang of fucking men might do. It's like living in the 1800s.

What about all the ones calling for or justifying violence against women speaking out?

Twitter are being inundated with complaints and 'evidence'. I don't think the fight is with Twitter in this instance.....

@DrRadfem it's awful they haven't given you a reason. I hope you are able to get them to reinstate your account. I think sometimes they shut down accounts that get a lot of reports but that they also sometimes reinstate those accounts. I recall seeing cases that have taken weeks or months to resolve.

Many times people whose accounts are in limbo like that are able to start an alternate or "backup" account. You might want to give that a try.

This is horrible censorship. Sorry you have to deal with it.

That video of Lila Perry - that is a male human being who wants to cause a stir most probably for sexual gratification. They are surely opting not to wear underwear so their penis is on show?

Is there anyone else who interprets it differently? Was the problem that Lila was under 18? Does anyone actually look at that video and think the visible penis is accidental/

I think we should start a twitter watch - what tweets get banned and why. There have been some very odd interpretations from twitter.

Also, how do we find out how their banning process works and what the rules are?

Sounds like Twitter miss haven't yet made up an excuse. But we all know the reason: Revenge for the successful meeting at HOC. The anger at their "own goal" of pressuring Millwall to cancel, which led to Venice securing the ideal spot at HOC. Their incandescent rage at being impotent to stop that meeting from happening.

The only good thing to come out if this, is the fact that every time TRAs try to shut a woman/man/genuine transsexual down, it causes other people to go WTF? It helps trans peak more people, so though it’s horrific that they abuse their male power like this, it will eventually be a massive home goal. Men like this are so used to silencing women or surrounding themselves with handmaidens, they don’t know how to react when they have to deal with strong women, that don’t follow their dogma, so they panic and lash out.

Are people reporting abusive messages around violence etc in this debate? Are they getting taken down?
