Some are suggesting it may be permanently. The silencing of women continues.

OP posts:
VanGoghsDog · 27/03/2018 15:54

I have a business account I rarely use and I log in to that to look at those people who have Tweeted abuse at my main account and then blocked me. Often you can see it in 'notifications', just a summary, then you click to open and it disappears and then you see they have blocked you and it's too late to go back and screenshot/use another browser etc. But you can see if from another account.

They are such brave little soldiers, aren't they!?

DarthArts · 27/03/2018 16:19

I believe the twitter terminology is "ploppers".

As in they appear on your twitter timeline, shit on it, and then run away by blocking you.

Mumsnut · 27/03/2018 17:21

'A big boy did it and ran away'?

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 27/03/2018 18:38

Yes I wonder how many women's accounts have been limited or suspended. Mine has. For tweeting GC opinions.

Twitter has gone full tonto on GC women

This reply has been deleted

Message deleted by MNHQ. Here's a link to our Talk Guidelines.

Winewinewinegin · 28/03/2018 21:28

To be fair I don't think writing either suck my dick or trannies are gross should be seen as ok. Was the other person also suspended?

Datun · 28/03/2018 21:29

You might well get deleted for those comments here, too. Definitely the second one.

There's a bit of an art form involved in talking openly, candidly and bluntly about this issue whilst not making any personal attacks, however irritated or angry you are.

Frankly, it's not necessary. Words are very powerful and the issue can speak for itself.

You can, however, swear your arse off.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 28/03/2018 21:30

I was suspended there for 30 days for writing "trannies are gross" after a tranny told me to suck his dick.

Hmm
Datun · 28/03/2018 21:36

You also have to bear in mind that we have quite a few transwomen posting on here.

Most of whom disagree vehemently with self ID and the way transactivists are targeting women.

Again, any personal disrespect is unacceptable to both MNHQ and members.

Attack the argument, not the person.

Their insight is invaluable, and most of them know this is not personal, in any way.

Winewinewinegin · 28/03/2018 21:38

Datun, as ever, speaks words of wisdom.

SunsetBeetch · 28/03/2018 21:42

GAB is crawling with alt right Nazis. Would not recommend.

Interesting development at Labour HQ tonight, which I do believe relates in part to the treatment of Venice.

Christine Shawcross has been forced to resign after not taking action and saying that holocaust denial was fine in certain circumstances.

Significantly shes head of Labour complaints and a momentum person.

The labour civil war, seems to have ousted her.

There is growing evidence of a real problem with disciplinaries being handled really poorly.

There's the no action against the brosocialists using misogynistic language, there is the TRAs including Madigan running riot, theres the story about poor handling of the sexual harrassment claims of Ava Etemadzadeh‏ against Kelvin Hopkins and today this appeared on Victoria Derbyshire:

Linda Grant @ lindagrant
Interview with my sister @michelegrant describing what happened when she reported a Labour Party member for virulent antisemitism, it took 16 months and left her feeling distressed and as if she was on trial.

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p062kn1g

The common element seems to be that momentum factor members and sympathisers have largely been given a easy ride whilst other party members have been subjected to appalling treatment.

Shawcroft remains on the NEC. For now at least though she has resigned from role as head of disiplinaries, but this surely has to be a good thing, which might mean this bull shit stops.

The bad news?

If she does resign the NEC, her seat automatically goes to Eddie Izzard. (For the avoidance of confusion, thats tge NEC job, not the disciplinary job he gets).

I hope this is good news for women, despite the Izzard thing. The suggestion is this would be a good thing for the trade unionist wing of the party, who are not keen on self id (all those nasty feminist unionists).

Very interesting - thanks Red

Juells · 29/03/2018 10:35

Now here's a thing... I set up a new twitter account so that googling wouldn't show my real name. I've followed various people, and done a little bit of retweeting and made a few comments, but nothing insulting. Mostly about women's rights. Just tried to reply to a tweet*, and got a message saying my account had been blocked because it exhibited robot behaviour. To restore the account I had to pass a reCaptcha test (fair enough) but also supply a phone number to be associated with my account. Just wondering what to do, I don't feel like supplying my phone number given the targeting of feminists by twitter tech people.

*ironically, the tweet was about the Green's equality person discussing setting up blocking lists of those nasty Terfs.

Juells · 29/03/2018 10:43

I've gone to twitter Help, and emailed saying I'm not a robot, and I don't want to supply my phone number Sad

It's a real campaign to silence women, isn't it?

HomeTerf · 29/03/2018 10:54

The same thing happened to me Juells I spent a frustrating lunch hour setting up a new account, opened a new window on my laptop to find a profile pic, and when I went back it said my account had been locked and I needed to supply a phone number to unlock it.

In my paranoia I wondered whether the fact that I'd just done the user name part, and it was possibly a radfem flag, wasn't coincidence.

I did the phone number though. Couldn't think of a way round it.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 29/03/2018 10:57

Put your number in, unlock your account and remove the number

Juells · 29/03/2018 11:01

Dreadful to have to be so paranoid. it really looks like it's the radfem connection, doesn't it? That someone is being really really busy reporting anyone who posts on the subject. If you were a fecking Russian robot you'd have no trouble...

Mumsnut · 29/03/2018 13:30

I can beat that. I have never tweeted, re-tweeted, liked or followed anyone from my Twitter account. It was suspended, none the less. I had mostly looked at gc people.

I thought the suspension was sinister, but someone on here explained that it was probably that my account was deemed robotic or inert.

I used their un-suspend procedure , and a banner appeared at the top of my Twitter to say 'log in from the e-mail address associated with your account, and we'll unlock'. It gave the e-mail address - which wasn't mine. It is a genuine, live e-mail address (I've sent an e-mail there and it wasn't rejected, though I got no answer), but it definitely isn't mine nor ever has been. I am very, very unwilling to log in using it, but equally unhappy to leave it associated with my account. Twitter refuses to act, and will not tell me how the account was suspended or how this e-mail address has come to be associated with it.

DoroVallens · 29/03/2018 13:49

Sorry to hijack but could anyone tell me if I could create a thread on a popular parenting site blocking people, deleting entire threads and banning women from discussing trans activists is against the guidelines here?
I can´t seem to find a way to contact an admin.
Thanks in advance.

grandplans · 29/03/2018 16:29

DoroVallens I have read your post 3 times and I can't work out what you're trying to say?

Melamin · 29/03/2018 16:36

It's not just me then............

OldCrone · 29/03/2018 16:53

Buy a PAYG sim (supermarket checkouts normally have them for 99p) and use that number.

agender · 29/03/2018 17:58

They are doing their best to silence critical voices.

Sara Pascoe, Tim Minchin and Jonathon Pie are now on the list! Clearly terfblocker doesn't have a sense of humour
