Long-time lurker, been inspired to post by you fine people!

I have made an appointment to see my MP in a couple of weeks, to discuss exactly this. I won't say who (outing) but they are male and Conservative in the SE area.

I have never voted for them (nor will) as I am an ex-Labour voter, who has flirted with the LibDems for expediency. And I disagree with them vehemently on a number of issues (cough Brexit cough). But will be interested to see what they have to say.

In our meeting, I was planning to focus on the need to recognise include women's voices in this whole debate. One MP can't turn the tide on their own, even if they want to. But getting us at the table is basic, and crucial.

Any other suggestions for what I should say/ask very welcome - appreciate the collective Mumsnet wisdom

How does this impact for example, on biological distinctions when keeping records across a population?
How does this affect where for example the NHS put their resources [eg Prostrate cancer screenings being offered to biological women because they ticked a box saying they were a man, and not offered to biological men because they ticked a box saying they were a woman].
How does this affect crime statistics when [biological male] rapists are being recorded as women? And then put into a female prison.

Great call about the NHS (prisons was already on my list to rant talk about) .

This affects everyone. If you don't acknowledge biological reality, how can you offer appropriate healthcare provision?

What research has been done into puberty blockers, bearing in mind the horrific tales from women who have been diagnosed them for endometriosis, what will happen when the children grow up, and realise they are now sterile?

What is the situation with regards safeguarding, when boys wanting to join the girl guides presenting as girls, and the staff are unable to inform the girls' parents, with regards for example 14 year old boys being put into accommodation with 10 year old girls? Why is the boy's feelings more important than the very serious safeguarding issues?

You'll have limited time, so if you want to be blunt about it, how about:

If having a conviction for rape is no barrier to getting a GRC, why should I automatically consider a holder of one as a woman?

The Guides say that mixed sex overnight accommodation has no safeguarding risks. Do any people proposing these policies have any idea of how babies are made?

Am doing my absolute best to get this messsge out, mainly self Id but alongside am mentioning kids and puberty blockers and #no debate etc.
I am hitting brick walls. Only one person gives any kind of a shit.

It's only on here that I see like minded people. Sometimes I think i must be in the wrong til I see others on here who can see the same horror show about to happen.

I'm out on my FB timeline and any gender critical posts are almost universally ignored by my friends. I've had maybe 3 or 4 respond cautiously or privately. I've had one or two poke me with a stick to see if I'm a bigot.

But most just don't care.

I've decide the fact that they've not deleted me yet might mean they haven't entirely drunk the KoolAid.
