The Thread of RAGE

Tomorrow I shall compose myself, continue speaking up, fight on, and we'll carry on getting stronger.

But I thought I would just explode my rage here, if you all don't mind, as I want to get angry tonight instead of desperate. Join me if you want to rage in company.

So.

FUCK YOU LABOUR, with your shortlists and your dismissive hatred of the female sex.

FUCK YOU, WEP, for choosing the wrong side and abandoning women this way

FUCK YOU BBC, for your biased coverage and concerted cheerleading of transing children and ignoring women

FUCK YOU ALL, you fools who aren't listening or respecting women.

You're all creating a monster and we will hit back HARD.
Our numbers are building.
We will NOT be defeated.
We keep fighting
We keep growing.

I AM RAGING.
I WILL NOT STAND DOWN.

I am not cross with anyone.

It's a case of MPs voting for the 2004 GRA, then not repealing it when the EA2010 went through.

It's a case of MPs being too frightened to own their own opinions.

It's a case of MH services failing patients.

It's a case of leaders failing service users and staff because they want to appear woke, they are limited or chose to protect their career above anything else.

It's a case of people that consciously or subconsciously hate women and worship men, putting the needs of women and children last.

It's a case of people with little insight or empathy for others making demands of others that help nobody.

There is evil in all of us, we have to fight it, learn and do good instead. This will be stopped if we work together and alert the public to danger Self-ID is to human rights and safeguarding. If that doesn't work tell them it will cost the tax payer in NHS compensation to steralised kids.

Elendon · 06/03/2018 16:12

I get your rage! Roar, woman, roar!

Now turn it into a positive thing. After all we are talking and exchanging ideas on mumsnet. What's not to like about this? This is women working together to garner change. 'We believe you' is still going strong.

If we women stand united, we will never be defeated.

Elendon · 06/03/2018 16:13

And I don't care what colour your political views are.

ChocolateCoveredGrapes · 06/03/2018 16:17

Roar!

I like the suggestion of as many of as possible flooding specific constituencies and individuals standing against that areas pro Self-ID MP.

ChocolateCoveredGrapes · 06/03/2018 16:52

Owen Jones has tweeted, wimmin behold!

To paraphrase, he confirmed that the Labour party are trolling us.

So who is up for standing against or flooding any pro self-ID labour MPs in marginal constituencies?

ChocolateCoveredGrapes · 06/03/2018 16:59

Reporting direct from Mr1984s Twitter account:

A senior Labour figure told me one of the main reasons the party has updated their position on trans rights is because of the anti-trans backlash.

In other words anti-trans activists overplayed their hand so much, they made Labour more pro-trans rights

For those saying: well that’s petty of Labour, isn’t it?

No: anti-trans activists drove the issue up the agenda, forced a debate and alienated people with (in some cases) an astonishingly vindictive, sometimes hateful approach, and the party acted.

It backfired, basically.

SunsetBeetch · 06/03/2018 17:27

FUCK YOU Owen Jones you smug, misogynistic little shit!

Riverside2 · 06/03/2018 17:41

I'm struggling to find Linehan's original tweet, I can see various rows bit not an original remark? Does anyone have a link please? Thanks.

Ritzsaltedcrackers · 06/03/2018 17:41

I actually despise Owen Jones, he’s a hateful, misogynistic little twerp. I hope his mother is ashamed.

TruScum · 06/03/2018 17:48

Owen Jones is an odious little misogynist. I age about ten years everytime I have to sully my brain with his mind farts.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 06/03/2018 18:05

A senior Labour figure told me one of the main reasons the party has updated their position on trans rights is because of the anti-trans backlash

Translation: we don't actually give a toss about trans people, we just wanted to teach uppity women a lesson.

Yes guys we had noticed this was all about misogyny rather than trans rights.

mrsreynolds · 06/03/2018 18:11

Just asked for a meeting with my mp to discuss this
I'm fucking livid

SunsetBeetch · 06/03/2018 18:11

Re Glinner. It all started when he retweeted this

twitter.com/anyabike/status/970554711270141952?s=19

"We know as men it’s not our job to tell women how to do feminism… but we JUST CAN’T RESIST" t.co/dTqRnkklzV

ChocolateCoveredGrapes · 06/03/2018 18:12

Another questionable recruit on labour women and equality advice panel.

SunsetBeetch · 06/03/2018 18:13

Then he had this to say about the term terf

"Not a misogynistic slur, no siree."

twitter.com/Glinner/status/970687037371187200?s=19

"Women! Know your place!"

twitter.com/Glinner/status/970687211715915776?s=19

SunsetBeetch · 06/03/2018 18:16

He's not backing down either. HE GETS IT.

"Guys, the cops are on my tail! Richard, take my advice. Don't engage with the performatively woke."

twitter.com/Glinner/status/970956847787192320?s=19

"Not so many people asking me if I think trans men are men. Gosh, i wonder if misogyny is at play somewhere in the framing of this argument? Does it sound like it's in good faith? Do I think this discussion will allow for nuance? Is this a good discussion to be had on Twitter?🤔"

twitter.com/Glinner/status/970959174887763968?s=19

SunsetBeetch · 06/03/2018 18:17

Sorry this was a bit celebratory for a rant thread!

Riverside2 · 06/03/2018 18:18

Thanks Sunset
I have a male colleague who thinks Momentum and Jones are great....he also follows Graham so hopefully this will get on his radar....I haven't raised it directly because I don't talk about this at work.

HairyBallTheorem · 06/03/2018 18:19

Owen Jones really, really hates women, doesn't he? He doesn't even try to cover it up.

LangCleg · 06/03/2018 18:23

Fucking Owen Jones. He's actually tweeting out the age old domestic abuser's cry of you made me do it and the disgusting little weasel is that much of misogynist he doesn't even know what he is saying.

thebewilderness · 06/03/2018 18:34

Owen Jones performing the first rule of misogyny: Women are responsible for what men do.

UpstartCrow · 06/03/2018 18:35

Owen Jones tweeted this (but its different when Labour does it, we deserve it);

twitter.com/OwenJones84/status/970744092404699136

HairyBallTheorem · 06/03/2018 18:46

I'm just trying to remember the point at which I realised LOJ was a raving misogynist, because I'm pretty sure it predated the whole trans thing. I had him pegged from something else he'd said (possibly about a labour woman politician).

Elendon · 06/03/2018 18:51

Thank you Graham Linehan.

I really don't enjoy the misery you know.

SunsetBeetch · 06/03/2018 19:02

Oh I've got another rage induced. Witnessed a man on twitter harranging a woman who was explaining why, having been abused by a man, she would be traumatised by having a male in a shelter..

He said she was 'using her own victimhood' and constantly doing what about trans women? Are you suggesting they should have a body examination before they're allowed in the shelter and how would that traumatised them (to which I replied why can't they have their own shelters?) until she was just about begging him not to engage her any more.

Totally arrogant arse of man! I muted him as I was raging so much on her behalf.
