Do you think some of the driver for "a woman is anyone who says they are a woman" is to do with bad science teaching in the US?

Just reading this thread on Reddit and loads of the posts are very scientifically naive. I can't decide if posters are being disingenuous or are just very uneducated about basic science.
It got me wondering whether the American thing of teaching creationism as equally valid a theory as evolution has generally undermined science and critical thinking.

IAmAmy - I could be wrong but perhaps it's slight peer pressure and, on social media at least, fear of being branded a "TERF" or saying anything which might anger the TRAs. They've seen how aggressively anyone who says anything the slightest bit "wrong" in their eyes is hounded and want to ensure they're not on the wrong side of that. I'm only speculating of course as I too struggle to fully comprehend why so many now toe the line on this.

Yes, I am reminded of the .

*If I want to use the disabled toilet with my baby I will be told that I need to ask for a parent and toddler toilet, not take the disable person's long fought for toilet. My response to that would not be, "Suck it disabled guy you want me out ask for a parent and baby bathroom".

You already have a toilet. The women's. If you want something else you need to ask for it. Not from feminists who traditionally have very little power. It's a pointless exercise, to be honest.*

Awful analogy considering women's bathrooms and often men's have changing tables and occasionally baby changing rooms exist alone.

GahBuggerit · 07/04/2017 16:21

datun I'm already a brown belt so I'm golden woohoo!

And don't trans men experience the menopause too in one form or another?

Datun · 07/04/2017 16:21

I'm getting the impression that SSR is a very confused individual.

Datun · 07/04/2017 16:24

GahBuggerit

God, you're going to nail it!

One hint of a hot flush, jump out of bed, karate chop the wall. Sorted.

AssassinatedBeauty · 07/04/2017 16:25

A parent and toddler toilet isn't the same as a changing table in the women's or a separate baby change....

CharlieSierra · 07/04/2017 16:25

Yep, certainly incapable of formulating a reasoned argument.

If a trans man has a hyster, I imagine that they run slap into an immediate menopause as they have their ovaries removed? I don't know what impact hormone supplementation might have on that, but surely there are still some effects. Would it be a manopause and thus a serious, dramatic event?

Ktown · 07/04/2017 16:29

considering the amazing scientific research in the US I fail to understand the US led gender nonsense. it is up there with creationism.
the culture seems to be becoming more and more sexist (Trump?) and there is such a weirdly clear girly girl culture (Kim K and Disney) and masculine male culture (in sports) that I am not surprised children who don't fit into either box, somehow think that they are 'non-binary' or whatever expression it is.

Datun · 07/04/2017 16:32

That was a very interesting video. And I'm sure it's true.

Although, knowing about the phenomena might help one guard against it oneself.

The emperors new clothes, is another prime example.

Datun · 07/04/2017 16:34

Praying for your kids. You're welcome for the show flowers

Thanks! Funnily enough, I often invoke God when it comes to my kids. Perhaps not in the benign way you imagine though.

GahBuggerit · 07/04/2017 16:35

Campaign for your own fucking toilet. I'll sign the petition right now

QuentinSummers · 07/04/2017 16:35

Oh my poor little thread. I was expecting a few replies not an explosion of gibberish Confused
I am going to start another related one leaving out trans definitions (because i cba) and Americans (because that was rude of me Blush). Please do pop over if you want to discuss the original topic!

What's the point of you being here if you're not willing to pull your head out of the deep crevice inside your ass? I've made my point. Seperate bathrooms for trans people are the goal. You can all continue being miserable and nitpicking excuses to extend the bathroom drama;

I'm happy for you to have your own toilet. I will sign the petition that you make. I will not do it for you.

And your response to my comment about disable toilets made no sense.

FerdinandsRevenge · 07/04/2017 16:40

You won't get your own toilets though. Because TW don't want that.

FerdinandsRevenge · 07/04/2017 16:41

I often invoke God when it comes to my kids.

I definitely said his name a few times when I made them.

SSR already has a toilet. With urinals.

Datun · 07/04/2017 16:47

Wow. Just wow.

😂

VestalVirgin · 07/04/2017 16:53

Why do they keep thinking it though? What's their gain?

Women who submit to men get the illusion of safety and a crumbs of the cake that they don't dare demand half of.

I don't understand it, but it has been like that for centuries. The handmaidens who side with the genderists are just the same, by a different name.

If a trans man has a hyster, I imagine that they run slap into an immediate menopause as they have their ovaries removed?

I suppose so, yes. And all trans men who take testosterone eventually have to have their ovaries removed; the risk of cancer increases so much it's not really safe to keep them.

GahBuggerit · 07/04/2017 16:53

They aren't safe though because there are biological men in there. But women are victimising themselves for not feeling safe in certain situations where there are biological men Confused

Is there such a thing as a trans snowflake?
